Final Task:

For their Final Task, teams must unlock the cryptex with a 5-letter word. To receive hints to the answer that will unlock the cryptex, teams must run to 5 podiums, one at a time, and correctly answer questions regarding the eliminated teams in this race. For every correct answer, teams will receive a clue. For every incorrect answer, teams will be penalised 3 minutes. Teams must refer to the Coding Guidelines to decode their clue and find out one of the five letters that will unlock the cryptex. There is a time limit of 2 minutes to answer every question. Thus, the maximum number of clues a team can get is 5. Once teams have unlocked their cryptex, they will know what to do. NOTE: ONLY ONE TEAM MAY BE ON ANY ONE PODIUM AT ANY TIME.

Final leader board up. This season has been a very fun (though tiring) season for me, and I'm going to self-evaluate and rank the legs. Feel free to dispute or agree.

1st: Final Leg

This leg was the leg I prepared the most, especially on the Final Roadblock and the Final Task. I threw away many ideas (such as actually doing the maze like in Egypt), but I eventually decided the maze shouldn't be too difficult as I thought the Final Three might be frustrated, thus Max saying it was pretty easy. The detour was also shortened, as I didn't want the teams to be stressed out.


2nd: Leg 6

I loved the cryptex and all the tasks this leg. 'Nuff said.


3rd: Leg 12

I liked the RB for this leg. It was fun preparing it and it was unfortunate that Iris and Teguin couldn't get Canelo.


4th: Leg 8

I liked the previous TAR seasons RB. I also had fun preparing the riddles and the maze for the detour in Egypt.


5th: Leg 9

I thought the Sony Vaio task was pretty fun, and the stand-off and roadblock was pretty fun reading. I liked the demographic detour too.

6th: Leg 11

OK, OK, the FF was too hard, but I thought the bartering idea was a pretty original one. The detour was pretty meh, but I liked the RB.


7th: Leg 2

This was my first split-leg, and I did feel a bit of challenge planning this leg. However, I liked the RB for China with the puzzle pieces, and it's a shame not many people tried it out. I also liked the Australia RB and the China detour (even though no one did the calligraphy). I also liked the China stand-off, which the counting of lines.

8th: Leg 3

I absolutely loved testing out the Dance Dance detour, and even though not many did the Hanafuda detour (because I didn't know then that W.ikipedia was a swear word), I felt that it was quite novel. The East Timor detour was average, but I liked the RB.

9th: Leg 5

I had a lot of fun preparing the Galileo/ da Vinci detour on another website, and it was fun reading some of the responses to the application of the equation. The RB was all chemistry, so I didn't feel as though it was anything special.


10th: Leg 10

This leg wasn't as memorable as other ones, but I really liked the first route info, which stumped a few teams (Bomb-Bay = Bombay = Mumbai). I really loved the counting RB, but the detour was not very fun to create.


11th: Leg 4

This leg wasn't very incredible, the RB was meh except for the humorous touches with the eruption of the volcano. The counting task was not as good as the India leg, but it was a start.


12th: Leg 7

I know what every one said... this was the ABSOLUTE WORST leg ever conceived in virtual race history, but oh well, I liked planning the puzzles for the RB, and I felt that had I took off some alchemy symbol puzzles, it would be an okay leg. I liked the blackjack detour and stand-off.


13th: Leg 1

I actually liked planning this leg, but the execution was terrible. Oh well, it was my first leg and I didn't know what I was getting into. Had I known, I would not have put Singapore as the first stop on this race.
