The two reasons I can see for this manipulated conversation is it downplays how Parvati is close with Amanda, or it downplays Parvati's direct lie to Amanda's face by manipulating the viewers into thinking that everyone was talking to Amanda at the time. Yay, I was right that the editors were trying to downplay Amanda and Parvati's tightness. :)

The only back-to-back season comparison we have is Rupert, and he was out early jury in PI, AND he was a huge fan favorite. His edit in the following season was not soft for a reason. Amanda is a different kind of player and if she does win, the soft early edit makes sense based on how much of her we got in China. Interesting...

The excuse with Amber was that they had to show why Rob lost. The excuse with Danni was that they had to show why Steph lost (and that Danni kept most of her strategizing off-camera). So now the excuse with Amanda is that she was on back-to-back seasons? Too many excuses.

But once the merge starts she starts getting the numbers to be a contender, but her bad early episodes discount that. Amanda was shown a LOT after she caught the shark, and there was the whole, will she betray Ozzy. them pre merge,... And she had that scene with Ozzy in Episode 1. She's definetly UTR, but invisible not really. If Amanda was invisible that episode, than Parv had a couple of invisible episodes as well.

That's all well and good. But a surprise winner means an edgic failure. Edgic is about cutting through the surprises and misdirections to try to pick out the winner. A "surprise winner" means a Mark Burnett victory. Like I said before, this season will either be a huge victory for edgic if Parvati or Cirie wins. Or a failure if Amanda/Erik/Natalie wins. There's really no middle ground. That's what makes it fun, though. I like people who are bold when doing edgic. No wishy-washy predictions at this late stage of the season: "Well, Parvati looks good. But so does Cirie. And we can't totally discount Amanda because she was on last season and could be getting a unique edit. And Natalie could be a surprise winner..." What's the point in doing that? Make a prediction, and if it's wrong it's wrong. But if it's right then at least you get the bragging rights and can gloat in the off-season.

Yes after she caught the shark she started getting more visibility but they all had little complexity MORP, MOR,MOR,MOR, every single one of those episodes she went to Tribal Council, everyone except Joel and Chet, who were the first 2 gone got at least 1 CP. Tracy and Erik had 1, Ami had 3, and Ozzy/Cirie had 2. Amanda is the only New Malakal Member to make the merge to not have a CP ~~after the switch~~ AT ALL, her first one was in Episode 11. Also Amanda's First 4 Episode Rankings were UTR1, UTRN2, UTR2, and INV1, No winner has ever started out with 4 UTR episodes the closest is Amber with 2, and by this point in the Season she had 4 CP's. Amanda isn't winning this season. Any talk of her being a contender is poppycock. She was 100% Eliminated in Episode 1.

If her pathetic first episode didn't eliminate her (which it should have), her subsequent 2 UTR episodes and then an INV episode certainly did.

Cirie, while casting a vote for Amanda, said, "We both know this is just going through the motions. This doesn't mean anything. All part of the plan." Cirie being edited as out of the loop is bad for her winner's chances. The edited Cirie looked like Denise afraid to face a tie while Team Parmanda were heroic. The real Cirie is sharper than that. Also Cirie had a brilliant move using her last chop to eliminate Amanda. A grateful Alexis takes Cirie on reward leaving Amanda to be exiled and get the idol for the Faves. If Amandas had won reward, there is a good chance Natalie would have been exiled, found the idol, and the Faves would be history. Unless Amanda is sharp enough to exile Parvati. Yet Cirie gets no stategic comments on her reward trip with the fans. Parvati was CPP3 this week because: James and Amanda were P. She cried for James' exit. Her loyalty to Amanda was emphasized, her "little sister." She covered for Amanda with a story while Amanda found the idol. Also also was good-humoured about being knocked out of the RC first. Making Amanda super-P with all those "she's so likeable, nobody can beat her" comments is a great way to create doubt for Parv while allowing her to be P also. If Parvati is under the false assumption, then who is seen as TRULY running the game? Did Cirie really know about the plan? If so, she kept the votes away from herself, that's for sure. I'm thinking that we are not supposed to truly be told straight up who is believed to really be running things, unlike the last 3 seasons. A combination of decent editing, back and forth strategy, and still being hidden enough leads me to still believe that Cirie wins. Although I find myself suddenly rooting for Amanda. Fat chance though, but she's at least been a little more interesting than last season lately. Winner picks: 1. *Cirie-still my #1 pick 2. Amanda-suddenly jumps to #2 3. Parvati-are we being made to believe the jury won't vote for her too much? Editing is one thing and points to either Cirie or Parvati. However, jury sentiments seem to point to Amanda the most and Parvati the least, with Cirie as a huge unknown. Nat and Tommy Shaw don't have a chance. Cirie being edited as out of the loop is bad for her winner's chances. The edited Cirie looked like Denise afraid to face a tie while Team Parmanda were heroic. The real Cirie is sharper than that.* Not if they justify the move next week. She wasn't shown as being in the loop for the idol blindsiding, even though she was happy about it, and apparently knew about it, going by her final words. She got the comment from Parvati when Cirie chopped her rope about Parvati remembering her or getting her back. She had the confessional on the reward about no longer being afraid or paranoid, which could be setting her up for a blindside.
