Now, when I had surgery by a "real" doctor, apposed to the trainee (stitches with much thinner thread than that embroidery looking thread Juliet used), my scar is pencil thin (staples), and they went deep inside my chest trough my ribs. |

It was probably just a mistake, but I guess they can always say the Island healed his scar. But then why didn't the Island heal his appendix? Who
knows--the Island works in mysterious ways...
I'm surprised to see a few negative reviews of this episode. I thought it was strong to quite strong and really enjoyed every minute of it. |

During the fight between Kate and Jack little Aaron stumbles into the room carrying a stuffed Whale. One has to wonder if we'll see a whale in the very
near future.

There must be a million people out there talking about the missing scar on Jack's tummy in the "flashback".
What I want to know is the toy he stepped on in the kitchen (Aaron's?) the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars? |

Yeah that was the Falcon.
Jack episodes are usually boring (not gonna say "bad", just boring) though this one was a step up because it was a FF. Any episode would have sucked after last week's. Pretty sure the paper was referring to the August 2006 series. Yankees swept the Red Sox in an abnormally-long 5-game regular-season series that launched them on their way to yet another division championship. A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez) was a significant offensive factor in that series. It was a big deal in the baseball world so it would be odd to have it relegated to what looked like an inside midpage article, but it was likely an LA paper (not in the same division as those two teams) and they may have had other things to talk about. This date would fit with Aaron's apparent age as well as the presumed April '07 date of the s3 finale; plenty of time for Jack to spiral into drunken insanity and have his life fall apart.

I actually thought it was one of the better Jack episodes, especially the stuff with Hurley. It was really nice getting the filler on why Jack spirals out of
control and how it starts. Glad they finally brought Daddie Shepherd in because I was beginning to wonder when they would have Christian in (besides
Jacob's cabin) after the final mobisode. Matthew Fox looking like he lost some tone to his body...

Big shocker ahead: I really liked this episode. And I agree with those who say we're getting info crammed in. I'm not complaining at
all.
Danielle is dead. GRrRRrRrRrRrRR!!!! Fuck. We found out that Kate made promises to Sawyer and didn't keep her word about contacting people re: the ones left behind. Why not just tell Jack what she was doing? She already knew he had trust issues so stop the damn lying. We found out Charlotte speaks Korean and Jin is a smart mofo to catch it and threaten her - Also how Sun gets off the island and he does not.. which probably means the whole graveside thing did NOT mean he's dead. Sun was probably grieving Jin's sacrifice to allow her to leave so their baby would be safe. We found out Daniel has a "thing" for Charlotte. We (or at least I) found out Charlotte might not be so bad. Miles is indeed a badass ghostbuster.. and he's kinda funny. "I didn't tell you.. restraining order thing" made me laugh. Daniel, Charlotte, Miles and Frank are not really "bad guys". (I could be wrong, but doubt it) Claire followed Christian into oblivion which explains why Aaron is alone. We don't know where she is, but am I the only one who thinks he is keeping her safe? Hmm. probably. Last we saw of Claire and Christian, she told him she wanted nothing to do with him, but immediately called him "dad" and went to him. I found that kind of strange. We saw the beginning of Jack's issues and why: Kate lying, seeing his dead dad, Hurley's message from Charlie Last but not least, we found out why Jack started refusing to be around Aaron. Charlie's message through Hurley. That's why he seemed scared to be around the child. He started believing that Hurley DID see Charlie after he himself saw his dad's ghost. I also took Jack's comment to Kate that he already knew he was related to Aaron and she was not. |

For me, it's another lackluster episode. We got some information though.
We know their are "ghosts" and they are clearly what drives Jack to drink. We know that this episodes "future" takes place, seemingly right before before last years finale, "We gotta go back!" We know that there are ghosts (as mentioned before). Which leads us to alternative... dimensions? Timelines? I think we all figured the ghost plot out when they created Miles, the forgotten Ghostbuster. This is conformation. People, like Sawyer chose to stay on the island... Gives me hope for Jin. Oh yeah, and I learned Jack and Kate are officially useless. They could kill off both characters and I would be OK with it. There's no point to their storyline. Honestly, Jack was great at one time. He was never supposed to be a main character and it shows. Jack would have been better served actually killing himself in the finale. Think about it... It would have been shocking, awesome, and add to the greatest twist in TV history (flash forward). Instead, he lived and I know I'll be stuck watching him and useless Kate go through relationship issues till '10. FUCK YOU DARLTON. Kate, Jack... Your expiration date is up. Evan Lilly does not take care of herself. Hobbit sex has had the same effect on Lilly as the one ring to rule them all did on Gollum. It's left her tired, wrinkled, and haggard. Her teeth seem to be spreading as well. Not looking to good. Her sex appeal is waining every episode and that's the only thing "Kate" had going for her in the first place. The relationship killed their characters. Sexual tension is good, but once you go past the point of no return it gets stale. It's becoming Smallville's Clark and Lana. Jack on the other hand has been reduced to appendectomy surgery... Well, that's not a waste of time. A). We know he lives. B). Who cares! Jack would be better served hanging with Ben and Locke. The Sawyer character could easily take over leadership at the beach. It would allow for confrontation and allow other characters to step up to the limelight (since the big 3 would be elsewhere). Instead it's Jack's beach law, and that's BORING. Didn't they devote an episode to Hurley tricking Sawyer into leadership at one point? For what? Jack's character should be hanging where the important events take place. Locke and Ben are the best characters because they're surrounded by the central plot. Jack could be useful. Man of Science vs. Man of Faith... Would be a more fun meeting at Jacob's cabin. But no.. We get Hurley tagging along where he's not needed. "Whoa dude, it's like, a cabin, with like, a ghost..." Instead it's Interesting (Locke/Ben) vs. Dull (Jack and Kate). Atleast next week it looks like we get beach. boat, and cabin. Should be better. Isn't it Locke-centric too? Always great... Because he is a great character. |

So I guess that's why they made sure to point out the S3 finale newspaper date was not concrete. I bet the April 2007 date was originally right, but after the S3 finale when they planned out seasons 4,5,6 they probably realized they didn't give themselves enough time or things overlapped so they needed to change it and just said the S3 newspaper date was a just a "mock up". I mean, was it really just a coincidence that while driving to the funeral of someone whose obituary was published on April 5th, Jack was listening to Curt Kobain who died on April 5th? |

It was an okay episode - a lot of exposition to set things up, but one of the better Jack episodes..
Good way to get Clairreeeee off our screens for more time. If they're going to visit Jacob next week, does that mean more Ben? Woot! |

You're thinking of Michael Keaton who was originally supposed to play Jack in the pilot.. and die in the pilot. When MF signed on, he was to stay as the leader. (which originally was written for the character of Kate) So get it right. I smile reading posts like yours because Jack and Kate will most likely be around until the last season, probably even the series finale. Have a nice day! :) |
