I'm not looking for the Cloverfield thread, but I want to say I finally saw Cloverfield a couple nights ago, and I thought it was the cheesiest fucking movie I've ever seen. The Mist was waaaay better.

the kidlet and I watched The Mist over the weekend. After the ending, we both looked at each other with a 'WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!' look on our faces.
The ending completely ruined the movie. |

whatever, whiners. sorry it couldn't be a super-happy 'inspirational' finale that made you feel good about yourself.
guess the marketing was right to hype up the 'controversial' ending, since some people can't accept that things, more often than not, don't work out. |

Haven't read any of this thread. Saw the title and thought I would respond. Of course I started a thread about this movie when it was released on DVD but
then again I was chastised for doing so.
Good movie .... Marcia Gay Harden is great in it. It's a popcorn flick. Adn you will come out of it with a "movie quote" you can use for a lifetime. p.s. Never read the book. Of course it would be better. Yet ... it's a movie. Watch and enjoy! p.s.s. Wait .. maybe I should have read the thread! Maybe you have already seen it. Oh well ............... |

The only reaction my family had was 2. Daughter freaked out cause of what's in the mist. The ending....ya just KNOW that it's gonna end the way it did,
even though it's different than the book.

Wow..I just finished watching this and...I dont know how I feel..These are one of those movies that kinda make you have to adjust back to real life. I felt
this way after seing 28 days later. One of those movies that affects the whole world that even we can be a part of. Nonetheless, it wouldnt happen, but
still...kinda makes you think.
First off..Great movie..Stephen King = genius, although the end is different in the book. A couple things about this movie bothered me. The religous aspect. This movie seemed to capatalize on it. That Mrs. Cochran or whatever charcter. First off I thought Stephen King hit the peak in religon with Margaret White in Carrie, but I was wrong. I think the scene where the bug almost kills her but because of the word she preaches it flies away, I didnt like the point it was making. I dunno, making im just insecure with religon, not knowing what to believe in, but still..It made me think. Although I did lmao when that granny said "I've got plenty of more peas." Kinda makes you wonder though if its true and we are living in the evil face of God, why people arent more kinder...well maybe not kinder , but more...i dunno..bible believers? Well..i dont know what it is i meant by that. Most people expressed how bad the ending was, and to a certain degree it was pretty horrid. When the rescuers came by afterwards I was like wow..that was the worst part of the whole movie..That had to suck for him. But in a way this movie reminds me of 28 days later, kinda intersting, but still.. The movie was made very well...Some ppl expressed how bad it sucked, but I dont think it was sucky..It was..unfortunate.The acting was good, the plot was...brilliant..I think most ppl just didnt like the plot, but to say it sucked...no...a movie that sucks is what you would call like...friday the 13th (even though i like it..no plot..just a slasher)..this movie had more substance...ok..im gonna stop now before i sound crazier than i do...like i said, i feel a little weird after this movie..maybe ill just read some hatethreads and snap back to reality...ok..thats all. |

It'd be much scarier if it turned out a bunch of old ladies had escaped from the retirement home, and the 'mist' was a cloud of that cheap
perfume they douse themselves in. A cane comes out and drags you into the mist, where you hear "I sent you five dollars for your birthday and you
can't even send a thank you card? Why, in my day..."
