Overall - I barely know who Neil Diamond is or hardly any of his songs. I spent the whole week thinking Neil Young was Neil Diamond, and for the first part of the show I was thinking that he looked way better now than the last time I remember seeing him.

Anyway, the only "great" song of the night was Brooke's "I Am I Said". The rest ranged from good to very mediocre, though no trainwrecks like last week (unless you count Paula). It must be Neil's music, but so many of these songs sounded alike so for me it was really hard to judge.

I do think Brooke has regained some footing she's lost in the last several weeks tonight; it was a good week for her. I thought "I'm A Believer" was good and better than what the judges said.

I thought Jason was definitely better than the judges made out on both of his songs.

David Cook again didn't blow me away, but I thought he was good.

Syesha was OK but not as good as the other 3, and David A brought up the rear as the most mediocre. Syesha and David A. have something in common - they have a hard time keeping my attention; they have a problem being interesting while performing.

In total, not too many really interesting performances but the strangest night of the season so far.
