What they did to Jason tonight says volumes all by itself, and the music is no longer important. Brain: They are going to get rid of Jason, no matter how many votes he gets. Heart: They get rid of Brooke, because if they get rid of Jason the scandal gets even more unbearable. They have to calm this shit down, and they can't do it if they boot him. Syesha - on a night when everyone else seemed to be stoned or half dead, only Syesha had fun (or at least "acted" like she was), and gave two great, memorable, animated and unique performances - Simon is way off on this one. She'll be safe and if she keeps this up, could actually win this thing. Big gap... 2. Rocker David - both of his songs sounded alike (especially during the replay) but he was still better than the rest 3. Brooke - second performance pulled her up from 4th 4. Breathy Manboy - technically proficient but totally lacking soul or meaning; he won't go this week, but he's starting to look like another "curse of the frontrunner" and will likely end up getting the boot prior to the finale. Another big gap... 5. Dreds - end all of our misery and send this poor boy home NOW. He really looks like he wants to go. (He also resembled Antonia from MAD TV when he sings with those weird mouth movements.) It was old fashioned, but she never sounded better. 2. David C. - It was average at best. 3. David A. - Sounded good. But I'm kinda over him as a whole. 4. Jason - It was just typical Jason. He's starting to coast again. 5. Brooke - TRAINWREAK!!!!!! Round 2: 1. David C. - I hate N.Diamond, so this song sounded like his own album track!!! 2. The similarities to Lifehouse are becoming increasingly disturbing, though. 2. Syesha. She has the strongest voice left, but there's something always disconcertingly off in each of her performances. 3. Archie. He's at least consistent. Relies on the same old bag of vocal tricks every song. Neil Diamond's tiresome treacle fits him well. 4. Brooke. She seems over her head here, even against this weak bunch. 5. Jason. Go back to Fraggle Rock already. B: Syesha. H: Jason. G: Brooke. Simon's critique was actually designed to save Syesha. He'll probably succeed, but just barely.
