Jason's third song was definetly my favorite performance of the night, it was brilliant, his best in the competition!

And they wonder why viewership is down. Yes, they have always tried to direct the vote but THIS YEAR it seems like out and out manipulation. I think people
are weary of it and finally are recognizing its overtness, i.e. when they carefully mention someone is sick or just as carefully omit it. They are tired of
prefinalist pimpage and prefinalist obliteration.
I am a West Coaster and generally have found SLDs analysis accurate but case in point tonight - he gave Jason an 8 for September Morn and the judges seemed to be carefully marking Jason as the boot. (And no I am not a Jason fanatic but it just proved my point.) Just judge it honestly and let the people decide. Does anyone else think their manipulation is more open and desparate this year? |

I haven't noticed it. I've ALWAYS just ignored the judges and had my own thoughts (such as preferring Kelly over Tamyra and Justin early on in Season 1
or Kimberley over Clay and Ruben in Season 2)... The sooner you realize that TPTB have really shitty taste, the more you can just ignore what they do and use
your own brains...

Archuleta was horrid tonight and they were tongue bathing him. Cook was by far the best, too bad he chose obscure(r) songs. Neil Diamond having Brooke change
the lyric made the whole song silly - but you can't put that on her.

I watched some of the AI Rewind show, and that was so true. Ruben, albeit very good, was also very boring and certainly tanked big time on finale night. Clay is a weird little mofo, but he outsang Roooben. This season does suck in comparison.I just remember that at the time I thought Randy was being racist and Simon was being a big homophobe. To me, that could be the only reason to explain how they consistently gave Clay negative reviews when he was so clearly a better performer than Reuben. (I'm not saying Simon thought Clay was gay -- I think Simon thought Clay was too feminine to be an American Idol winner) |
