And I'm coming around to the conclusion that Syesha maybe aint so bad. And I say that as someone who hated her.

*I will not, repeat, WILL NOT, go stalk her at her husband's tattoo shop like ten blocks down the street from here*When If you decide to go to the Smithson's tattoo shop pretend you're actually interested in getting a tattoo and it's just a coincidence that you also enjoy Carly's singing. That way it seems less stalkerish. |

Something tells me that Carly would welcome having SFGP stalk her... She doesn't seem shy about enjoying validation... Perhaps she'll have a T-Shirt
made:

I just read one of her exit interviews. She totally called out fangirls for voting for guys based on looks.
Well what she actually said was that she felt the girls had a bit of a struggle because some many women vote for male contestants. What I chose to translate it as was the girls got fucking screwed over this season because of all the little bitches voting for David Archuleta because he's "cute." That's very obvious though considering the percentage of female contestants in the bottom group vs the male contestants. |

It may be best if she stays away from the love thread, too. Not always the nicest posts, and she strikes me as somebody who really cares what people think about her... |

There's only negative comments in here because of douches like you.
We love Carly and we'll tell her to ignore lamewads who don't like her. Besides I'm sure she's grown a thick skin listening to Simon insult her week after week. Getting back to Carly <3 I just watched her on AI Extra, it was nice. Her mom and her younger sister were there. Apparently they just flew in from Ireland 2 days ago. Her mom was glad she came this week and was there to support her. She told the story again about picking Carly's name after hearing Carly Simon on the radio on the way to the hospital. Apparently Carly was 2 weeks overdue and she hadn't gotten the right name the whole nine months. She said she even went to graveyards (creepy) and looked on tombstones for cool, old names. Carly was very happy about making it as far as she did and about getting to go on tour. She talked about her favourite memorable moment on the show and she said it was getting to sing "Alone" in Hollywood week with just the piano. Michael was back actually and he came out and sat with her for a bit so she got to see him again. At one point they were talking about tattoos and her shop and they asked her what was like the strangest tattoo anyone ever wanted and she was like "no offense if you ever watch this" to the person but she was like, this one girl came in and she wanted an angry star. She was like well do you want like an angry face on and star and she's like no, I just want it to be extra pointy and angry looking. I was like WTF? What a strange request. Then they asked her where the most painful place to get a tattoo is and she was like well you should probably ask my husband about that then of course he came out and she was happy, she didn't even know he would be there. He showed the tats on the palms of his hands (wtf) and said that was really painful, and she said that he told her the one on the top of his head was painful. He seemed like a really nice guy, first thing when he came out he gave her a kiss on the head and he was very sweet. The host guy was like you're like a celebrity now, you got more airtime than Seacrest and he was like "god, I hope not." All the parts with Carly were nice. That pig Gina sang a new song of hers though so that kind of killed the episode for me. She's still looking for a deal apparently. She was like "I'm just doing some demo work. I don't really have any connections with labels so if you're out there and you're looking for someone to sign hi I'm Gina Glocksen." I tried to listen to her singing but it was horrifying, I muted her. The Top 5 all had nice things to say about Carly, especially Cook. It's sad that both Cook's very close friends are gone now. We also learned something about each of the Top 6 and apparently Carly loves trashy magazines. She doesn't really read them but he loves to get them and go through them. (Cookie reads girly mags apparently, he said he reads like Cosmo, O, Vogue etc, trying to figure out what women want and it's not working because he's still single)

Well, I said a few weeks ago when she was really in danger that if she just survived that week, I'd be fine with her going after that, and I am.
If she had to go this early, she really couldn't have gone in a better way. If she'd gone in the last two weeks, she would've been viewed as deserving of the boot. She might not've had a total redemption, but she definitely gave her best performance in awhile this week while two others gave trainwrecks. Now most people will remember her as going too early because of it, and less talented people surviving her. She probably still doesn't have a chance of getting a record deal, but if she had to go now the circumstances of her dismissal were the best for her future opportunities. |

There's an article intoday's NY Times suggesting Carly offended a lot of viewers with her song choice of Jesus Christ Superstar because a lot of
conservative Chirstians view the song as blasphemous.

Both Carly and Syesha just seemed like they were screaming their songs, it was grating. I couldn't stand the idea of either of them winning and annoying
the hell out of me for years to come. Syesha performed her best this week and didn't deserve to be in the bottom two, but Carly screamed her performance,
once again. I just never heard the great singing voice from her, she was screaming so much.

I don't think it was the only reason she went but perhaps if she had sung the unoffensive other song she had in mine she might have survived one more week and Syesha would have gone. Either way neither of them deserved to be bottom 2. I agree though, it's nice that Carly went out now and got to out on a very high note. Two weeks ago at the scary boards people would have been like oh well she's gone. Now people are fucking outraged that she's gone and that her and Syesha were bottom 2. I never thought I'd get to see the scary boards up in arms over Carly's elimination or Syesha being bottom 2, I love it. |

The song may have been the catalyst. She sang it very aggressively with a hard R&B twist, which I loved because I'd never cared for the song before. If
it is the reason she left, ALW owes her a job for convincing her to change it (I'm only kidding really. If she'd done All I Ask of You , it
would've been just another boring ballad. I'm glad she went out on a rocking note.)

As for Carly rubbing people the wrong way it seems the only people she's rubbing the wrong way are fucking uptight people who need to get the fuck over
themselves.
To me she just came off as a very nice person and someone who really, really wanted and appreciated the second chance she was given. Whenever she did something like the t-shirt or whatever I wasn't laughing my ass off but she didn't mean any harm by it. Simon has been pretty rough on her and she probably thought it would be funny, Simon was laughing. |

^ I thought the T-shirt thing was funny - one of the few moments I felt she was being herself and not worried about desperately impressing people (which made
her look uptight).

I would agree that throughout the season she's been quite focused on what people think of her but let's look at it from her perspective.
She already has a failed recording career in her past, it was her last chance and if people didn't like her she wasn't going to do well. I really wish Kristy Lee had knocked some sense into her earlier. Carly said on Ryan's radio show that she talked to her and she told her just to be herself and that's when she let go. If only that had come earlier than it did. Kristy was endearing and likable to people and she very obviously was just being herself and letting the chips fall where they may. If Carly had that attitude with the voice she has she probably would have done a lot better. That said I don't anything else is inherently wrong with Carly's personality and anyone she rubbed the wrong way is uptight and needs to get over themselves. |
