I don't blame them if it was a Newfie.yeah, he looked totally like a bear cub when he was a baby! so freakin' cute! he's big, he's black, he's drooly, he still thinks he's a lap dog, but vicious?? I think not. Look at his cute baby picture!

I was just thinking about a topic sort of on the same subject yesterday. I walk dogs and yesterday a guy passed me on the trail and said "Hi Blackie"
to the dog I was walking (a black lab). I thought "That's racist!" but didn't say anything. The dog I was walking is actually named Otis, not
Blackie, but I'm not sure that's much better. I walk 2 black dogs that ARE named Blackie and a white samoyed named Whitey.
Why are pet owners racist? |

People are afraid of my dog's bark. This is the lab/chow mix. But I don't think she would ever really hurt anyone unless they attacked me or something.
The other two are just too nice and will leave with other people if they could. ;)

Does my grandpa qualify as a pet racist if he was a human racist too?
He always had a white lab on his farm but never had another colored dog and if one of the barn cats had a black kitten it was referred to as a n----- cat.

Maggie is not really a racist (I know because we've discussed it), but sometimes people think she is.
She may be a reverse racist, but I cannot prove this. She does not seem to like white dogs and will take a defensive and dominant posture around them. There's a young black boy who wanders around here every day after school, making a lot of noise and playing with a ball. He throws the ball, runs a few feet, catches it. Maggie wants the ball, and she tries to run to get it. The young black boy is afraid of her and thinks she's trying to get HIM. Yet during a recent stroll down the Riverwalk, Margaret encountered an obese black lady and just LOVED her. The black lady loved Maggie, too. Maggie licked her fingers and the black woman said: "Oh, she be licking the fried chicken grease off my fingers!" I swear to God, she really and truly said that. It should be noted that white people often enjoy fried chicken, too. As do golden dogs, so there's nothing racist about that. |
