Is she Catholic?

Who I don't know if she's Catholic. I know she's part Greek and they are predominately a Catholic culture. She's very open about her deep
faith in God. I've seen this question posed by many who believe she shouldn't have sung for the Pope if she's not Catholic and I couldn't
disagree more. Kelly's faith is very important to her and you don't have to be Catholic to understand and appreciate what the Pope symbolizes.
I'm not Catholic yet I wear a rosary necklace all the time to symbolize my faith and commitment to God.
It certainly was the best post idol performance I've ever seen bar none. the notes at the end were sublime. |

The above article says she is Baptist. Not that I care, either way, that she sang for the Pope and don't understand the angst about it. But I thought I
had also remembered hearing that she was raised a Baptist.

Now some morons on youtube are telling her that she was dressed innappropriately! Christ, the minds of some people! They actually suggested that she wear a
VEIL for Christs sake. Excuse me for living in the 21st century but WTF is wrong with some of those people? Kelly actually was wearing something decent for
once and they criticize her for not wearing something more "religious." How low can some people go...
Anyways, Yelly's performance was amazing. In terms of talent, I think she is still the best Idol winner ever. I can't see any other Idol winner try this song without butchering it. |

I don't believe that ILGE was referring to you Who. There are others who feel that they should have selected someone who was Catholic or an opera singer,
etc. on other sites.

no, I wasn't referring to you Who...I know you were just asking the question in general...but like rene said, on various other sites some jackasses have said Kelly shouldn't have sung because she's not Catholic.... it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard... well not THE dumbest but still pretty dumb LOL |

This was posted at TWOP and brought over to the KCE by another expresser. I just want it to post it here too because for me, it sums up my feelings about this
performance much better than I could ever express but heard in the performance.

I was over at KCE & realized it's Kelly's birthday today. She seems to be having a great year that keeps getting better & better. Her performance for the Pope was amazing. It's not just that Kelly has such a beautiful voice, she has a way of expressing a song, I believe, exactly the way she feels it. |

the Pope did call Kelly over and did shake her hand...isn't that some kind of blessing?

poor bst.... it really galls you to see someone praise kelly doesn't it? why do you guys take it like a personal afront whenever someone likes something Kelly does? No. That's your MO. I just think flowery hyperbole is silly, no matter who does it. |
