Best makeover ever, and certainly cause he isn't one of the ones where its like "take off your glasses, put on these aviators and a vest...omg hotness!11!1!!". He actually looked totally different. I was so bummed when him and Tiffany or whoever that girl is got eliminated, and now I especially am. They were great. God bless you God for telling Tiffany to pick Jim! I'm guessing it'll end up as a Leticia/Matt vs Amanda/Tommy finale, but I'd like to see Tara and Joe sneak in there since I've finally come around to liking them. Their negativity has gotten so ridiculous that it's hilarious and both of them have such a way with words. So much hyperbole. <3 Yessss! I knew people would come around. TaraandJowange is back in a big big way!

That run down the hill looked harder than I thought it was. They looked awfully close to wiping out at least a couple times. Oh...but Tommy...SHUT UP ABOUT AMBER!!! I hated the two that left, so good riddance to their respective boring and bitchy asses. I thought the random "Chris is a mean loner" subplot that popped up for 30 seconds every 10 minutes meant they were a goner, so I was really surprised when the other two went. The thought of Joe and Tara winning fills me with joy. I hope they can!

The fifth season-which concludes May 13 and I completely forgot was even on, perhaps because they decided to dump their usual format after their old format got tired-has had low ratings. A clip show last Tuesday was watched by 1.6 million, while 1.5 million watched the regular episode the week before. It debuted with 1.9 million viewers, a loss of about 50 percent of its viewers from last fall and spring. That "serious ratings slippage" means "CW execs have decided to put 'Geek' on ice after the current season wraps," Variety reports, noting that the show "may one day be revived, but only given the passage of enough time so that the format could once again seem fresh." One other possibility is another format change, and "[o]ne possible idea that's been discussed is changing the format to focus on age differences." Executive producer J.D. Roth told the paper, "You can never be sad about a run like this." The significant dip in ratings is probably somewhat attributed to BB and AI being on at the same time. All the reality tv buffs gave the lesser of the three up.

Ditto...I was surprised by the editing on a reality show for the 1st time in ages last night and for a CW show? That's crazy talk. Chris's confidence in himself, the talk of their team being the strongest and Cara's frequent confessionals (a lot more so than usual) had me convinced that they were gonners. Oh and Cara's blush in those confessionals? Wow..just wow. Clown levels. ___________ Granted I missed the 1st 2 episodes of the season, I did watch the recrap and since when are Amanda/Tara BFF? I thought that Amanda/Christina/Cara were BFF, Leticia was on the outside and Tara was too. Hmmm.. like when they all wanted to scare her when she was sleeping?

Anyhow, thats sad, but like the guy said in the article, they've had a good run. This season really is way better than the past few though, so at least it'll go out on a high note. Could be a good hint that the change in format was a good idea. I also was really confused by that bland chick saying Tara was her best friend. That came out of nowhere. Jason's teeth really were fucking disgusting. Yikes.

He is such a ringer, it's not even funny. At least the others know they need to get rid of him. Moody Chris was a surprise. Came from nowhere and went nowhere. I'm guessing they did that to build the suspense for the final vote. Everyone got one vote so they had to show the reasons for it. I actually liked Jason. Kristina not so much. Too bad for them. Tara needs to get over herself. It's obvious she has her issues with Joe but it's the way she goes about blatantly showing disgust for him that's tasteless. And the great wall? Classic. Leticia/Matt and Joe/Tara F2 with Leticis/Matt winning would be perfect. Leticia and Matt are amazing. I love both of them. Leticia probably gained a lot by partnering with Matt because he's so well-liked and is not considered threatening, which takes the heat off Leticia. Perfect team, those two. They both support each other completely and it shows.

I would like Tara/Joe to win but the EDGIC says no - the recap talked about Joe crossing the line and was more about him being a Matt kinda sucks now. Their predictable will end the streak of two awesome winners in a row.

Same with the Big Bear ep. Without direct competition between the contestants, all this is is Real World with a gimmick. Frankly, dicking around with the structure of the series is what I think has led to its ratings decline and now "hiatus." Seriously, who but the most hardcore of previous season watchers would stick with a show that opened by pitting the geeks vs. the girls? There was absolutely no reason for Jason to go home.

He won any challenge that was subjective. People were pissed off by that. Big brother 9 never aired against this show to my knowledge. BB9 comes on at 9pm eastern and this show comes on at 8pm eastern. This show should be where who is willing to change the most wins each week instead of a big brotheresque game where popularity gets you through the game. This show is just like high school when I thought the purpose of it was to grow beyond that. I doubt the CW will find anything better to replace it with.

But Season 2 had the biggest decline in ratings up till this point and it was a direct clone of Season 1. The show has always had a ridiculous format, which worked in Season 1 (largely due to a fluke) and completely failed in Season 2. Since Chuck/Caitlin won all the challenges, they didn't have to face Richard/Mindy until the end which kept things fairly epic. In Season 2 there were more strong teams but all four of them were sent head-to-head in the first three elimination rooms leaving only one strong team against four pathetic ones (with Brittany/Joe noticeably the best of the four), making the second half of the show depressing and predictable - the BATG equivalent of a Pagonging. Beauty Vs Geek was a gimmick too far but they needed to do something with the format or it would have been cancelled even sooner. Last Edited By: A Dying Clown 05/01/08 3:54 AM. Edited 1 times.

My point is that changing the rules of the game without telling the contestants renders the game not a game and betrays our trust in the network suits. I loved how the geeks were choosing their models with an eye to signalling their beauties. This being said, I thought the first geek chick taken was the cutest of the four, but dayum if Chris didn't make the 2nd pick completely blossom. It's nice I thought that Leticia acknowledged that's she's older... before icing the three idiots that are younger. Seriously: that challenge could've been anyone's to win. The goop-averse chicks lost, did they really think there'd be actual poop involved, and WTF?! Lurved the later potshot at Randi's hair though. The Wild Bunch montage of the combatants dressing for combat: hilarious! So what was the adage about one cut deep? Never heard that. And what does the color of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader's star have to do with womens fashion? Crap questions again, but still... OOOH OOOOH OOOOH: Joe spewing a loogie on Tara. That poor long suffering chick -- not. The second something goes all icky, she loses it. I amazed those two got to the F4. This was a Beauty & the Geek ep from the old school, a blast to watch, and perhaps a tribute to the glory days of the early seasons. R.I.P. Beauty & the Geek. You will be sorely missed.
