i forgot to add this (and since this flipped over to a new page, i'll add it here) more so... why would you post (just to piss in the corn flakes of those who really do enjoy the show), and then complain about how "jim and pam" exhibit some sort of "superiority", the same sort of shit your post reeks of and you rail against? the "finer things club" does not approve...

OG sofa wrote: Can someone explain their "superiority" to me please? They behave exactly the same way as they always have since the first episode of the series. Pam even tried setting Michael up with her land lady to make him feel better in the last episode after Stanley mentioned he hates no one enough to set him up and Phyllis begrudgingly lists her "fat friend." No one else gets shit on except for the two characters who finally found happiness. |

When Jim knelt down I almost shit myself. I'm like a silly teenager over this show, LOVE JIM+PAM. Even the little things are funny to me. I think Creed is
hilarious, the episode where he dyed his hair black to look young was the funniest shit ever.

You whiners act like I post on here just to ruin your day. I said lots of good things about the dinner party episode, didn't I? I call them as I see them
and "The Chair Model" was a really really shitty episode. If that was the first episode of The Office that I saw, I wouldn't watch again, and
neither would most of you. So you can fool yourself and act like that last episode was brilliant television, but it wasn't. It sucked. It wasn't
funny. It wasn't charming. It wasn't endearing. It was lazy. After 4 months of striking, I'm pretty disappointed that the writers didn't
have something good. You guys might love mediocre television, but I don't. I'll praise it when it's good (and I have, if you read any of my posts
when the show was reliably good), but I'll call it out when it sucks, like the episode last week did.

"SuvivorsucksbutTheOfficeIsTheBestShowEverAndJimAndPamAreSooooooooooAwesomeTogetherOMGOMGOMG.com"!!!!!1!111 I'm seriously thrilled you're
back posting here, even though it looks like you won't be doing it as fast/often after the episodes. I can't get over the fact that so few other people
seem to think the Dwight character has completely unravelled, or that Kevin isn't totally irritating to more people.

But that will never happen because of the way they've developed the characters. Can you name one thing in 4 seasons that Jim or Pam did that reflected negatively on either of them individually? The only thing I can think of is their respective unwillingness to admit how they really felt about each other. But seriously, neither lies, cheats, smells bad, looks bad, has anger issues, etc. etc. etc. Why would they possibly break up, absent some ridiculous contrivance. So, I predict a ridiculous contrivance completely out of character for both of them.

Can you name one thing in 4 seasons that Jim or Pam did that reflected negatively on either of them individually? Jim, this season? Created a character in Second Life and clearly spent a lot of time developing it. His flop intro to the "Finer Things Club" and not taking it seriously. The combined birthday party. His poor ping-pong skills. He was about to ditch Pam at the dinner party until she came up with something to force him to stay. Five episodes in a row where Jim is shown to either have minor or major flaws. From the teaser for next week's episode, it looks like Jim manages to screw the pooch on something again. I would say the writers are setting us up for something big where Jim will be the goat. |

If you don't approve of this somewhat normal human relationship set up to balance the mostly abnormal sitcom shenanigans of the office, and if you only get 2.5 laughs per eppie... why are you even posting here?See thats also the point. The rest of the show doesnt offer the most abnormal sitcom shenanagans anymore. The Office series is built upon awkward moments. Micheal should just be completely awkward and socially retarded. David Brent was the king of awkward moments. Micheal seems a bit to "with it" and semi intelligent now a days. The awkwardness just isnt there anymore and what we are left with is goofy moment after forced goofy moment. I post here because I still love elements of this show but I believe it is seriously lacking in certain areas. |

It's funny how some people think other people are actually reading their posts.
(not you AD or Kitty. I'd tumble for ya). PS Jim/Karen were shown to have problems before the finale. a) it was obvious he was still in love with Pam from like... always. Even she knew it from long before the finale (Phyllis tipped her off when they did sales calls together) b) even the episode before when she referred to Pam as a "bitch". That sound you heard? That was the audience booing her like a silent movie villain. Their break-up was organic since he was ALWAYS still in lvoe with Pam. Their getting together at the end was the most organic thing too. and I like Karen :) |

Oh please, guys. Posters in this thread other than you are happy to level criticism when it's warranted. There was a lot of negativity around here during
the one hour episodes that began this season. I just don't think these criticisms are warranted. Hell, sometimes I think you're watching a completely
different show but mostly I think you're overanalyzing. After every screed I'm thinking, "Did he sit in front of the TV making notes on things to
whine about?" Does everything you watch receive the same level of scrutiny? If your standards are that high I don't know how you find anything to
watch in today's television wasteland. Chill, man.

Glebe220 wrote: Pointing out that the last episode wasn't funny is overanalyzing? The only analysis I do is trying to figure out why it wasn't. The Office used
to be great, but it's not anymore. Still it has some pretty good episodes. I didn't take notes to know that the dinner party episode was funny...I
just laughed when I watched it. It wasn't like I wrote a thesis paper on the episode. I wrote a 3 paragraph, unedited message board post.
There are going to be people who swear this show is solid gold every episode, no matter how bad the particular episode might be. How many seasons was Home Improvement a top 20 show? Some people don't mind eating shit and pretending it's sushi, but I do. When The Office is good, I'm quite happy to talk it up like everyone else. When it sucks, I'm not going to pretend it's awesome. |
