You might end up with two distinct alliances, and each one would try to have enough people tank the challenge so they vote off the other side. That would be lame.Hahaha I'm imagining the endurance challenge episode where both sides race to have enough people quit as soon as Jeff says go. And I apologize to everyone for bumping this. Problem: How are you going to rank every individual player in each challenge? You're limiting what you can do with that, because you'd have to set up
challenges where you can definitively measure each player's performance. You'd be eliminating the team concept, which is central to Survivor.
If you ant to reward the stronger players, there're things you can do. 1. Finding the Idol makes you automatically immune whenever you're voted against, regardless of whether or not you play it. 2. If you win 2 individual immunity challenges, you earn an extra immunity. |

And as the number of losers got less and less, eventually the weaker winners would fall into the bottom group, and even the strong players might fall into the
weak group in one challenge. The way you've got it set up actually encourages the booting of the strong so that the weak have a chance.

There are a gazillion shows about athletic prowess. If that's what Survivor was about, just about everyone who ever won would not have won (with the
possible exception of a rather hunky firefighter).
I love rooting for the less athletic players and love watching them outwit the immunity whores. If weaklings didn't play, chances are I wouldn't watch. |

Though I hate to reply to such a fucktarded thread, I must add that it was a brilliant move for Tina to push Skupin into the fire or for the castaways (save Shii Ann, obv) to decide to have a fake merge in Thailand or for Parvati and Cirie to puncture Penner's leg with the stick. Truly, truly brilliant. In addition, I also think that there should be some point in the game where they change up the tribe members, like a "swap" or something, to ensure that one's position is not permanent and for people to work on forming other relationships that would change their standing for the merge. |
