The Saudi oil minister said Monday that they would not increase their output and that prices were not high because of any shortage in supply. An analyst I
heard speak about it said that altho people are complaining about the high costs, there hasn't seemed to be any shift in demand, and so they are willing to
leave things as is in order to maximize their profits. If the price of fuel keeps going up and everyone continues to pay for it, why would any supplier do
anything to make costs lower?

Someone today told me that some people (he didn't say who) are hoarding oil in large volumes because of the rising prices. If that is true, there will be
an oil bubble that will pop (economically, not literally).
I need to research the oil hoarding thing. |

Drilling in some remote, god-forsaken area to offset gas prices = printing more money to offset a flagging economy.

So I guess the left's official line is we can't drill in Alaska, because that won't solve the energy problem, but we do need to start conserving,
