And since most of the people who post on this topic are anti-Elisabeth, it's just interesting to me that people are willing to overlook Joy's smugness and the fact that everything she says goes. It's fact for her, "I'm right, you're wrong." Joy doesn't budge. Yet, she expects Elisabeth to bow down at her feet. Don't get me wrong, this does not mean Elisabeth is right by any margin.Yet, this is a show called "The View" which means that regardless of whether someone is right or wrong on any given subject...it's five women sitting around talking about how they feel.

As for Joy having more than one defensive argument...everything she has said so far can be tied back to "Blaming Bush" tactic. I've never seen her go an episode without using it. "I hate this war." Blame Bush. "I hate rising gas prices." Blame Bush. "I hate tax cuts to the rich." Blame Bush. "I hate Elisabeth Hasselback" Blame Bush. Is all this accurate? More than likely so, but Joy has mastered the art of beating a dead horse. We know already. THAT'S what I mean whenever I bring this sort of thing up...I'm a firm believer in the fact that people will overlook those who have similar beliefs even though their tactics are identical to their opponents.

So call out Elisabeth on her repetitive use of her arguments. Elisabeth does mention Rev. White/Sept. 11th etc/Clinton. I'm not arguing that. What I am arguing is that people don't see that Joy does the exact same thing. She tries to talk louder and over Elisabeth, and often times slights the Republican Party and ends up taking a jab that Elisabeth even when the discussion has nothing to do with politics.

One more thing, Joy probably makes more money in one episode of The View than most people make in a year. So I wouldn't be complaining about tax breaks.

This sounds like the same friggin argument someone made a few weeks ago. I hate Elisabeth, but I'm not always on the Joy bandwagon. She is very smug and her feminism goes too far sometimes. She does have the tendency to make anything negative said about a woman a federal issue. But, you can't say her blaming Bush for things is the same as what Elisabeth does. Bush is the current president and his administration is the reason for many problems. Elisabeth will bring things up from a decade ago (Clinton/Monica) which have no reference to the argument that is going on (other than that Hillary is involved).

For me, what I see as the main difference is that while I'm not saying it constantly happens, Joy is more capable of criticizing those that share her views than Elisabeth is. Maybe it's because Elisabeth is the only republican, or maybe she just is that fucking stupid, but she seems completely incapable of saying anything negative about Bush, a Republican running for office, etc. And that shit is scary. Part of debating or arguing is realizing that your side/view has flaws. If you blindly follow something and do nothing but defend, it's just messed up because everything cannot be right. Elisabeth seems unwilling to bend on any view . . . ever. I don't think Joy or anyone else expects Elisabeth to bow down and follow what she says. I think it gets on her nerves that Elisabeth is more of a mouthpiece than someone who just shares her views. To me, Elisabeth does not even seem capable of realizing that there are people who are against the war, and they do have legitimate reasons.

Again, Joy is not perfect, nor anywhere near it.
