A ganglion is a pocket that develops in the tendon and which fills up like a water balloon with synovial fluid.

I have one of those little suckers on the top of my left foot. I had surgery to remove it and clean up some bone spurs when I was 22. THe doc told me that
I'd probably have to have it done every 10 years or so because it will most likely keep coming back. He was right, and I've got an appt to see an orhto
next month. It's not bad, but it's right on the top of my foot where laces tie and it causes all kinds of nerve issues if I step on it wrong. It's
weird to see it growing back and around the scar from the previous surgery. When it first appeared, though, my mom freaked out on me and thought I had a
cancerous tumor.

I had one removed from my right wrist when I was about 12. It never came back. But now I feel one forming in my left - fuck. They really fucking hurt at times!

I can't believe this was bumped, and what the heck happened to the chop in post #27? That was hilarious.
My cyst apparently was lonely and cloned itself! Argh. In front of the original there was a teeny little baby cyst about half the size of a pea. A few weeks ago, after several hours of painting, my wrist started aching badly. So I was holding my wrist and flexing it trying to work out the pain and then I put a little pressure on the baby cyst with my thumb and all of a sudden WHAM. A blowout. Not only did I feel it but I actually saw it happen under the skin and HEARD it pop. Gross gross gross. Now the little one is gone and the big one is slowly getting smaller. And it doesn't hurt much anymore. Yay! |
