And it wasn't the final 4 - that was the week Dick made every's life a living hell (moreso than usual)...... I understand the using it on yourself, since whoever is not on the block can't get off, but if one of the folks on the block wanted to use it on the other they should be able to - but I don't know why anyone would want to do that.

Cowboy wasn't nominated, won it, and saved Diane. He didn't have to officially "vote to evict" Nakomis, she was just forced to leave at that point because she was the only nominee.

Dick was pleasantly surprised that Dani used it on him but it really wasn't a sacrifice on her part at that point in the game.

He said he was told at final 4, you can only use the veto on yourself, unless you are the HOH. Why? Because POV winner can't be put on the block. So if they use it on someone else, that leaves only one person on the block, not allowable. Basically, whoever wins POV chooses who goes home, period. They don't need to take someone else off the block anyway, because they have the only vote.

Posts: 505 (04/17/08 12:01 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Here is my understanding of the F4 Veto: Dick said on Housecalls that the F4 Veto is different from all the others in that it cannot be used to take someone else off the block; it can only be used to save yourself (or keep the noms the same, if you're not on the block). It has to work this way because if you're not the one on the block but you win the Veto, you could conceivably take someone off the block to save them. Problem is, there's nobody to replace them with except YOU. The nature of the Veto is such that the Veto winner is safe from the block, though. So it fucks everything up. True, the HOH could win and change the noms without having to put his/herself on the block, but that would be giving the HOH an additional power with the final Veto that is unavailable to the other three, and that wouldn't be fair. Now. Doesn't that make sense? Grodner will be on Housecalls tomorrow. Maybe she will give her spin on it. Also I want to hear what she says about that HOH guinea pig question.

I heard him say pretty much the same thing except I thought he said inculding HoH which made zero sense to me. Fuck it. It doesnt matter anyway as Baller is going to come through with the veto.
