Spader and Bergen were great tonight, as usual.

Pretty tough stuff.
Glad Jerry and Katie were there to lighten it up. Best line: "During the strike I fell in love." lol! |

so tough to watch, I lost my dad to complications from the big A. knew Denny was going to be in the courtroom. James Spader is the best actor ever, his
courtroom tonight was brilliant.

Deja vu. | ||

Yes, a very emotional episode, but David E. Kelley wrote the same thing 14 years ago in a two-part Picket Fences episode that was superior. Certain
phrases from the former show seemed to be used again in this episode. David E. Kelley is a strong supporter of euthanasia - every episode in his series always
come down for it.
I liked how they used Jerry this week as opposed to last week's one note "purrs and whistles" schtick. |

I was touched by this episode, I hate the slippery slope brigade! They are always using that to keep our society from moving forward! It's been done in
Oregon, and when I was living there we had serious doubts, but the procedure turns out to be extremely rare in real world practice and has never been disputed
to be a murder factory when you put the plan into practice, almost all of us only want whats best for our loved ones, and with the checks and balances in such
a law it's rare that a person could be plug pulled out of wrongful spite.
At least lets have the debate without the pro side villainized as people who want to see murders, when they are actually wanting to see the humane thing done. Also in a lighter note: I am usually a cool cat, but I would have acted just like Jerry. That woman was totally my type in every way, and would have driven me to purr and whistle and blubber and my knees would get weak I tell you that! What a knockout redhead. |

The actress who played the redhead is Rachelle LeFevre. Last year, She had a recurring role on What About Brian.
I hope she's back next week. |

Spader was fantastic as usual... such a sad and depressing topic though.

I think there was perfect blend of comedy and drama in this one. One of my favorites of the season so far. And Jerry's line about falling love during
the strike was great. I have been waiting for the "strike" joke.
Candace was incredible in this one and Spader was just amazing in his closing. |

tobificus wrote: Kelley also wrote an episode of "Picket Fences" that took place at the Supreme Court, which is where "Boston Legal" is going next week. Wonder if he'll be repeating any of the jokes he used in that episode? (One joke was that Ruth Bader Ginsburg usually asks such long, complex questions of the lawyers that by the time she finishes, they forget how she started. And the actress playing RBG nailed it.) For those of you not familiar with it, "Picket Fences" was David Kelley's masterpiece. He explored all the controversial topics on that show that would pop up again in his subsequent TV shows, but they were handled more memorably the first time around on PF. |

...At least he won't be able to use a "Rinchberg" joke this time.
It does sound that Kelley will do pretty much the same thing he did in Picket Fences. Alan's going to be told how not to argue but of course will predictably proceed to argue that way. |

James Spader and John Larroquette should NEVER share a scene together unless one of them is sitting down. JL makes JS look like a dwarf when they are standing
next to one another.
