Are We Allowed To Say The Idol Gives Back Special Sucked? |
Lead | |

I hope so. Because it did, big time. High points were the dancers at the beginning, Miley Cyrus's second song (the first was awful), and Heart. Some people
liked Annie Lennox too. Carrie sounded great but the song was meh. I got a chuckle out of some of the insults thrown at Simon by the standup guy. That's
about it. Even Fergie was bad. Three or four nice bits surrounded by over 2 and a half hours of sanctimonious, repetitious sludge is a horrible percentage.

Miley's second song was a high point for you? wow.....just wow.... |

I like the IGB 2008 special instead of last year's IGB. Billy Crystal mispronounced Miley Cyrus' name (mee-lee seer-ious) before her song began. Billy
was talked to Miley about her singing career.

Glad your mom finally let you watch the TiVo. Wait until you find out who gets eliminated from the show.

Miley sang more than once? I must have blacked out for most of the show.

My mother died last year. And I didn't know it was such a horrible crime to say that ONE of the two songs by Miley Cyrus was good. And no tween girl will
ever admit that ANYTHING Miley Cyrus did was less than perfect, so I don't think I deserved that.

Aww, don't be sad
I personally like Hannah Montana the show. It cracks me up. And I like See You Again and that song she did with her dad. I'll admit it. |

The only thing I thought was great was Annie Lennox's performance. Pretty much like last year. Which is why I didn't waste 2 1/2 hours that night
since I was bored after a few minutes, and watched a movie instead. After I heard talk the next day I watched stuff on iTunes, but Shout to the Lord and Many
Rivers were the only two things I could watch all the way through. Pathetic show - no wonder the ratings were way down.

I watched maybe 10% of it, but Miley's performance of "See You Again" was amazing. <3 She is a pop goddess, and that song is destined to be
the song of 2008.

I was shocked seeing the Heart women backstage on the AI Extra show because they looked so old, especially the red haired one, Nancy.

I didn't watch this shit show. I didn't feel like watching a big ass company pandering for donation dollars when the last time, 5 million dollars of
donations only went to administration costs. I'd rather donate to a real fucking charity so I at least know where my money goes rather than a TV show that
probably isn't even honest about their own vote totals anyway.

somewhere around 10-12 percent is considered legitimate for admin. costs.
Too much beyond that is the money going to the wrong people. ETA: The special TOTALLY sucked. |

At the risk of repeating myself...
No more "Idol Gives Back" please!!! We gave those needy fuckers $70 million last year and it looks like they must have blown it all on bitches and booze, cuz we show up again this year and they're still begging for more dough. I wanna see the receipts! Where did that money go? |

Since I knew there would be no results, I skipped it. Too many things to tivo that night so I was glad for the break. |

It would be more meaningful if Simon Fuller, Simon Cowell, Nigel, Paula, Randy, Ryan, etc. all matched the donations. When you read in Forbes that Simon
Cowell made $200 million last year, and Ryan made $80 million or something, what the hell are they doing asking people who can't even buy gasoline anymore,
where food had gone up in cost 1/3, to do something they don't do at all. I expect they do donate, but I would like to know what it is vs. the huge amount
even $20 is to the average person in the U.S. anymore.
