Best: Pontiac presenting a compelling case that its G8 is a superior car to the BMW 5 series. And at $30K. If I were on the market for a new car, I'd test drive it just on that ad alone. Worst: a father singing Meatloaf's Paradise By The Dashboard Light to his son. Let me sleep on it? Incest? Paedo incest? Incestuous paedo? What a fucked up disaster of a message AT&T is sending with that one. Particularly since anyone buying that phone as a father rocked out to Meatloaf back in the day and knows precisely what let me sleep on it means. Weirdest thing about it? I think that might have been Meatloaf hisself playing the father. Ick, ick, ick.

"Okay, I'm watching NCIS and it's about 15 minutes till it ends, and ads are running. I'm not paying much attention as it's a M&M with a wig sitting on a park bench reading a magazine. Okay, M&M ad. Then, suddenly ,the cutest little squirrel shows up in front of the M&M. Then, seconds later, there are dozens of squirrels. A second later, the first squirrel launches the attack. Y'see, it was a peanut M&M. Darn, wish I'd caught it on tape!" it was a "milk chocolate" bath. hitchcockian ala "the birds". "when you're an m&m don't forget, there might be a large peanut inside of you..." oh, and i posted the review because this ad will probably never be broadcast again. it is sure to piss off some group somewhere and get banished. that said, i thought it was hilarious. m&m's paying homage to the great hitchcock. too cool... Maybe it's because a lot of the stuff I watch is aimed at a younger demographic, but it feels like I see 500 of them a day. They're all the same, too: Some celebrity does the whole "I had acne too, just like a non-famous person!" speech, and they show before and after pictures with gross close-ups of the featured celebrity's acne, along with gross close-ups of various nobodies' acne. Ew. And do they have to be so freaking long? It seems like each one lasts at least a minute.

Suddenly, he gets a phone call -- from a White Castle hamburger -- and changing his mind, instead heads off to get a burger or two to eat. Seriously? WTF? I can't think of a specific example but a fun game to pass the time during TV is to watch the ad's for crimes and seeing how many show that. I am talking about physical violence and theft and stuff. Also how men are always stupid in commercials, I mean it's bad for women too but I feel like men get more abuse, there's always some dumbass who needs beer and can't get it, can't choose his detergent without a woman there, or needs a woman to choose a new food or toilet paper or something. Although there is a reason for it... women make the purchases. But still. I also hate the ad for VW, where the yuppie and/or hippie couple is standing by a car and then the alarm goes off, and they are totally freaking out "ZOMG HONEY MAKE IT STOP PLEASE /cry QQ /cry QQ" and it's a guy who has the keys pressing the alarm, and for some reason the dealer is complicit in this strange torture and nobody is pissed that a alarm keeps screeching inside the dealership. Where the decibles in real life in a echoing small showroom would be like 110 or something.
