That probably is as good as it gets for Kristy cus i doubt that she'll be able to pull off a countryfied version of songs for future themes.
I hope i'm wrong though cus i like her more than most of the remaining contestants. |

I definitely think she's one of the cutest girls ever to be on the idol stage. She looked and sounded great last night.
Damn her! I want to hate her so much but she's actually making it hard for me... |

What Kristy seems to realize is every moment you're on the show counts. Her performance package was all about her as an underdog, her reactions to being in
the bottom three, they all set a character for her which the judges have no control over. Something else which worked for her was almost everyone assumed she
would sing "Amazing Grace". She took a risk by singing something else, and the risk paid off because she sang it very well and no one could say,
"We knew you were going to sing that, how predictable."
Most of her song choices have been very solid (I think the only stupid song choice from her was "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"), only dragged down by the band screwing things up or by her own pitch issues and inability to fully connect with the song. She connected this week. Overall, I think she and the other Cook (David) have probably made the most consistently correct song choices this season, with one or two exceptions. That's one thing I notice about most of the country singers on Idol. They know they are a package, a character. They know what will help them not only on the show, but after the season is done. I think that's the biggest reason why more country singers have success post-Idol than singers from other genres. I don't think she's a mastermind plotting Idol domination, but I still think it's very funny she is selling this personality so well while the season's big actress, Syesha, has made many viewers loathe her. |

blonde country singer = knuckle dragging racist? | ||
|
People keep misinterpreting the KKKristy racist/redneck thing. Blonde country singers are not automatically racists. Nobody thought Carrie, Caaaaaarmen, Kellie
or Bucky was a racist. And I doubt KKKristy is actually a racist, though it's certainly possible. She didn't seem to mind hugging Ramiele at all! The
"evidence" is extremely skimpy: 1) a confederate flag showed up in a video or her house or something 2) she said she should win because she's an
"all-american" girl 3) facing almost certain elimination on top 10 night, she sang "Proud to be an American." I think That's IT. People
have run with this, which is fun up to a point. But unless Chakezie or somebody actually SAYS she's a racist, we shouldn't take it sooo seriously. What
KKKristy IS guilty of is shamelessly pandering to her country fan base, and that does piss many of us off. What also gets us pissed is that she's about the
only singer in the competition who's actually improving as she goes along. But that's a seperate question...

I think people are just joking around with the racist stuff. We don't know Kristy and she hasn't given any solid evidence of being a backwards ass
racist redneck bitch, it's all in fun.
Kristy Lee <3 Once Carly goes home on Thursday KLC will be my favourite girl. Oh and just for seaguy, fuck Brooke. |

Brooke is a crazy bitch and I want to punch her in the face, I'm almost off her bandwagon simply based on her personality and the way she carries herself.
I will buy her music but she's not the type of contestant I enjoy rooting for on Idol.
Kristy Lee is an underdog and she's so sweet, I enjoy rooting for her. Also the best thing about KLC is the hard work she's putting into her performances, same thing I love about Carly. Kristy Lee recognizes that her ass is on the line every single week and she goes for it. She was wonderful this week and I'd love to see her keep going with the momentum and make it a little further. |

The fact it seems she may outlast Carly this week and that noone is really hating on her says a lot about her. She's definitely got the underdog vibe going
on.

If someone told me back in the semis that I would use the words Kristy Lee and love in the same sentence I would have laughed my ass off. If they told me
Kristy Lee would outlast Carly I probably would have been laughing non-stop for days.

Much 3> for the Kristy Lee thread being bigger than the David Cook or Porkchop threads, I never thought I'd see that day and it has come!
I'm feeling a little nostalgic because it's the 1000th+ post and it's a major milestone on the road for Kristy Lee Cook, it's amazing where she's come from and what she made herself into today in a couple months. Kristy Lee Cook is the embodiment of the American Idol ethic of hard work and striving to live your dreams, and watching as a sprout becomes a blooming, shining, flower in front of America to see! But it wasn't always so... In the beginning KLC started out in the audition rounds as the good home ol' country girl who could only sing Amazing Grace. The only way she could seem to make it to the show was to sing it again. She then became known as Amazing Grace girl and nobody gave her a chance. Then came the infamous 'pole dance', and then began the full on hate period on sucks and roughly a million hate posts were born and EW famously had her at 500-1 odds to win. Yes AMANDA had 150-1 odds so this made her 3 times less likely to win than Amanda, people didn't think she would last a week. But that my friends, is what she would be known for. Little did we know it was all part of her master plan. She mixed her understated innocent sexuality with a mediocre cruise ship voice, great song selections and some decent performances and earnest expressions of wanting to be better to gain a small yet devoted fan base, including yours truly. People just didn't quite see the talent, and she hit a few bottom 3's and 2's but still to me she was a Survivor.. who didn't suck! I always believed she had talent but skill and understanding the meta game of AI is another thing. I'll say as much as I like her now but she was very rough in the beginning and I thought she was going to leave every other week, yet she soldiered on. That's part of my love for KLC in a nutshell. You can diss her, come at her with all the sharpest criticisms but she uses all that as advice to get better. Better, Harder, Faster, Stronger = Kristy Lee Cook Ironically for me, it was Beatles week that made me love her and became a die hard fan. She tore a new one out of a Beatles classic, but afterward she acted like she did too, but with no shame in her game. She didn't try to act like she gave the best vocal or interpretation but she didn't admit defeat either, IMO she had the attitude like this was the beast she created and she was going to love this new monster, warts and all. And it was a glorious beast, perhaps the ugliest of all time but beneath that disgusting exterior beat a sweet tuneful catchy heart. Of course she hit the bottom, we were all sure she was done yet there was a spark, a certain something in KLC and her fans, perhaps it was the redneck agenda or maybe it was HER, KLC, her personality of resilience and toughness that proved to America she deserved to be there. And then controversy! Moments after Captain Cook sung Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" the country erupted in cheers on one side and scorn and contempt on the other. Patriotic! Pandering! Inspiring! Ignoble! Join the USO! Join the Marines and never be seen again foul wench! It was a firestorm. But nobody on either side could deny it was a brilliant song choice. Perhaps the greatest ever. It forged her a new life, the country fans who were on the outside suddenly pounced on their phones like tigers and voted like the crony of a Zimbabwe dictator. Dolly week happened and again she hit a bad spot, hitting another F3. In my opinion though the defining moment of Kristy Lee Cook happened that night. It was Ramiele Malubay and KLC in the B2. The votes were cast, Ryan had the results and! Shock! It was Ramiele who went Malu-bye! While everyone else was crying and gnashing their teeth, Kristy Lee was like the stoic war weary Samurai, caressing Ramiele through her %%+%% in between her bosom, like some southern fried Queen Elizabeth, showing extreme tenderness and being the rock for Aloha Kitty at that moment. Her hug touched me, her strength when others were weak was beautiful, strangely a bit sexy and showed us all true courage. I believe at this day the haters would become lovers and we were all ready to embrace Kristy Lee Cook ourselves. This makes this week all the more sweeter. Even if she leaves us this week, we can say that KLC has outperformed our expectations of what we thought she could be. I truly think she had the greatest performance without a doubt. This is the first time I can say that and mean it. Her Martina McBride cover was incredible and was one of the highlights of an admittedly bad night. Even so, it was truly wonderful to see someone work as hard as she does and finally have Her One Shining Moment, her night where she stood in front of us and showed she was the greatest. For one night, maybe for the first time, she was the greatest, from humble and shaky beginnings to great memories of triumph, this is what American Idol should be. Sorry in advance for this post but I felt like writing a lot today :) |

Loved her last night! | ||
|
I have no clue how I came to becoming a fan of KLC. I loved her last night!! That song was a great choice because it allowed her to answer her critics and
haters. America loves the underdog, so she might have bought herself a couple of more weeks with that choice. And in all hoensty, she seems to be the most
genuine and real person there.

She is without a doubt one of the luckiest people ever on this show, given how completely dreadful her first 4-5 performances were. She wasn't even in the
bottom two for the first couple rounds (top 24, 20, etc.) I think the notion that straight guys don't vote for this show has been refuted.
