Fun fact for everyone, based on how much her label spent compared the CDs sold, they paid about $5,820 per CD sold. To think they didn't even get that back in revenue for all the CDs that were sold.

Who will fall first, Carly or Michael?
I really hope she starts kicking it into high-gear and sets herself in a good position for possibly making the Finale, soon. Jordin peaked around this time and that gave her enough momentum to coast to the F2 (and sucked ass after that), hopefully Carly can do the same but keep up the momentum. It's obvious the fantards don't care for her, it'd be great if she knocked out Archtard. |

I love Carly but GAH! I just listened to her studio version of Here You Come Again and she sounds like a chipmunk! I don't think they could have made a
mistake again. Maybe she's just a terrible studio vocalist. The grittiness of her voice is gone.

 I see why they pro-tool the shit out of her voice. The grit and raw edge in her voice is nice to see when you're actually watching her perform, but
it's probably a pain in the ass to listen to that on a CD.

Chipmunk? She sounds fine to me on my recording. I also think she sounds similar to her performance this week. This was the first time while listening to her
sing that I actually heard a lot in her voice similar to Kelly Clarkson. Now, Keltards please don't come in here and say "She wishes she was like
Kelly". I just heard something in her voice this week that made me think of Kelly.

I don't want Carly to outlast Archuleta if that means she becomes a big object of hate. I doubt Carly has a chance of winning, so I'd just like to see
her get far enough to give more good performances and help her career. If people boo her and threaten her and she's ridiculed for outlasting Archuleta,
then she's going to be devastated, and I don't want to have to see that.

JB, it's interesting. Out in the real world and not these silly boards, I talk to people about Idol all the time. They know it's my "thing"
and always want to talk to me about it. The consensus that I've heard from most people I talk to is they love David Cook and Carly. Noone really cares for
Devil Child and think he's really limited. Of course they don't hate him like many of us do, but still he's not a favorite. I talk with coworkers,
vendors, friends, the guy who cuts my hair lol, people on my bowling league, etc...so it's all different groups of people. Not scientific at all, but there
is no Carly hate out there at all in the people I've talked to.

I don't think anyone seriously hates Carly (many people seem to resent her, but the resentment is fading to apathy or grudging respect), but David
Archuleta is the tween favorite, and David Cook also has a very vocal fan base. Anyone who outlasts either one of them will face a very ugly backlash, even if
Carly is very talented and has given many good performances. After seeing how Carly crumbles when Simon makes a comment about her wardrobe, I'm not sure
how she would deal with some of the hate a contestant gets for outlasting a favorite.
I do want her to stay as long as she keeps doing a great job, I'm just saying I don't get into the stuff about how great it would be if she outlasted so and so, because I don't envy anyone this season if they outlast one of the Davids. If Archuleta keeps sliding downhill, and Carly gives consistently good performances, then hopefully there wouldn't be a big negative reaction if she somehow miraculously stays and he goes. |

I take it seaguy doesn't fraternize with many 13 year old girls and actually talks to regular viewers about the show.
I actually feel similarly though. Most people who I talk to about AI think David C and Carly are excellent and don't really care for Archtard. Like he said they aren't crazy haters like us but they don't think he's that great and some don't even understand why he's so popular when I tell them that he is. My mom for example who doesn't follow and internet stuff she just watches the show was appalled by "We Can Work It Out" and thought he would be bottom 3, I laughed and I was like mom, he's never going to be B3 he's so popular with fangirls and she was like are you serious, he's not good. |
