Our CBR we had growing up chewed through an electric cord when he was a puppy. He flew about 5 feet and never touched another one. Of course -this didn't
stop him from chewing through the dry wall or taking our underwear into the backyard.

He likes to chew, but we try to really supervise him all the time (new parents - never want to leave him alone) - and replace whatever he has in his mouth with a chew stick or toy. He also goes to day care a lot of days, and is so tired when he comes home, that chewing is an afterthought. I know the day care thing is so yuppie, but when we found out he has Akita & Pit Bull in him, we really wanted him to get socialized early so he doesn't get dog aggression. |

Ashley - I would only worry if he stops eating or shitting. Although - how big is the sock?
Oh God - I forgot about how Duke hated gays. The biggest queen out there talking about how much his crazy pit bull hated gaes, except for him.

it's only a small women's sock, thankfully, and he's already over 60 lbs. I was thinking he could handle it too- I read that bigger dogs can even
pass it in their poop. He may have even hidden the second sock, but my mom hasn't found it. BAD PUPPY!

Beep, perhaps the shelters are better in your area than they are out here. Kennel cough is a major problem (here and in AZ), as are serious intestinal
parasites (giardia, etc. not just your run-of-the-mill worms)....for dogs in public animal shelters. The turnaround time is so fast (either they get rescued or
put to sleep)...that they (the shelters) don't have the time to treat serious problems, recognize personality issues (beyond the obvious), or spend any
time doing home checks, etc., before turning out the pets lucky enough to be adopted. Rescue groups have more pets than they can handle too, but it's not
uncommon to see pets with foster families for months, waiting adoption. Plenty of time to recognize/treat most all illnesses, see first-hand personality
quirks, and do thorough home checks of potential adopters. Again, I'm just speaking from experience out this way. My bad for not saying that.

worthy means putting a title or two (especially a conformation one) on him so the bitches' owners will approve him worthy means passing OFA/CERF and the PRA tests and he's just now old enough to have the OFA one done he's not allowed out on dates now |
