If only she had been in an earlier season.

So much potential, deep vocals, couldn't get pass the nerves and pick the right songs. Regardless -she made it farther than I thought after her last 3 horrendous performances.

The best voice in the Top 12 (arguably Carly's is better), and she couldn't pick a decent song to save her life. I'm guessing the other two when Simon said Aloha Kitty was one of the three best singers were Carly and Archtard.

I wonder how much of it was Producers, because there is a report on Pop Idol, by someone who isn't a fan, that the Producers were deliberately trying to upstage the girl. I believe to that the producers get a say, in what songs you sing too..Or let it put it this way, who gets what song.

Could be, they definitely have more power this year with supposedly having a say in which songs contestants get to sing -- and Aloha Kitty was an early threat (guess they weren't behind her, there are very few mainstream asian recording artists in the US, i'm surprised they didn't milk her wanting to be the first asian Idol for all it was worth), so them weighing her down doesn't surprise me at all. She should have stuck to the big ballads, I think she was trying not to come across boring, as she said in her Top 20 interview that she didn't want to be called Lullaby Malubay, or whatever.

If she was sabotaged at any time it was earlier when they told her to sing big (which she can't) or last week when she went first. She was just too young emotionally and too inexperienced compared to the others. Her nerves seemed to eat her alive as the season progressed. I did feel very sorry for her. I guess seeing a young girl crumble on national TV is never fun.

And TPTB didn't manipulate her into the B3 to be sent back to the couch to scare her fans (see Carly, Jason, Brooke). But it doesn't matter. It was her time to go because she hasn't been delivering. I mean, the pressure she must have felt through the past few weeks... and she is still quite inexperienced compared to the daddy's stage child and former record whore, so I was rooting for her just a bit. She just never got comfortable up there to really display her voice well. And I felt she actually sang better tonight than she did the past couple weeks. anyway, in regards to being "upstaged" by the producers, here's the snippet from the article on the Entertainment Weekly site http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/04/idol-live-top-9.html#more But that, dear PopWatchers, was not the most obnoxious producer snafu of the show. Not even close. Now, while my opinion of Ramiele may not come close to Slezak's feelings of rage towards her, I've never been much of a fan. But that didn't stop my rage at how blatantly the producers stacked the deck to get her into the bottom three. First, if you noticed, she got no lighting-package love. And after I caught Nigel doing a silly hoe-down move as she sang (out of fun or mockery, I couldn't tell), I realized he directed it towards Carly Smithson and Jason Castro, standing in the wings. Huh. Not so normal to see contestants out on the floor during another's performance. Nor is it to see a stagehand walk said contestants out into the audience during said performance to position them right behind the judges for the ad break shot. They both looked all kinds of uncomfortable as they upstaged Ramiele, and indeed I can think of no reason to do this other than guaranteeing that a good half of the eyes in the room weren't watching the woman on stage, thereby undercutting that ephemeral and ever-important "connection with the audience." And it worked; I can't even remember what Ramiele was wearing, let alone singing. I know that really couldn't have influenced her actual singing... but still... that's rude. It could have flustered her while she was singing. Plus, nots get into the fact that the band played to loud and drowned her out, and apparently Idol has a history of doing that purposely to some contestants.

She does have tons, but she just falls flat on the stage. There are moments where she sounds great, but then it's almost like she is anticipating falling apart and just loses it. Her studio recordings are really solid. She just needs to learn a little confidence in her abilities, which will come from experience. I wouldn't be surprised if she is one of the better singers by the tour's end.
