This theme is just wrong. Dolly's work is okay for Dolly, but most of this does not showcase would be Idols.

I haven't heard of nearly half of those songs.
Screamesha doing "I Will Always Love You" is my worst nightmare. Buh-bye. Too bad she could pull off a magical, tender rendition, but instead she'll butcher it Whitney-style. Brooke doing "Jolene" is a pleasant surprise! She's finally doing something pretty up-tempo contrary to her mellow performances. Kristy or Screamesha is going this week. Kristy doomed herself with a slow ballad. So much for her string of mastermind performances, but she probably expects to glide through this week, it being Cuntry n' all. |

Syesha- dumb Ramielle- boring, forgettable Carly- ok, but I don't think it's a great choice for her. blah Brooke- very smart. I expected someone else
to take it but good choice. Kristy- a good choice. I think she may have had one or two better options, but still great Michael- upon hearing this I really
think he can make this work well. Dodged a major bullet Cook- surprising but amazing choice. there is actually a very cool cover of this, but if he's smart
he'll do his own because otherwise he'll face major backlash.
Jason- nice. what I was hoping he'd choose, but I thought he might overlook it Archuleta- ??? I have no idea what to make of this. Extremely weird. I don't think the judges will like this Syesha is in the most trouble, but I think Ramielle and Carly are in danger this week as well.

This is going to be officially, the Worst.Theme.Week.Ever.
I wouldn't listen to these songs on my satellite radio for 2 seconds before saying "Turn that shit off", and I am forced to listen to 90 minutes of it tonight. Although, I am a little excited for the smackdown Screamesha is going to get... |

only 60 minutes...

BTW, I love Dolly, but in that picture she reminds me of that movie Death Becomes Her, where the undead Meryl and Goldie are shellacking themselves at the end.

Yeah, I'm just glad it's only 1 hour tonight. 9 performances in 60 minutes will fly by very quickly, which is a good thing.

It's odd that they went from a Top 11 show of 120 minutes to a Top 10 show of 90 minutes to a Top 9 show of only 60 minutes.
Nine is way more than half of eleven. The performances tonight are going to be as short as some end-of-show recaps. |

It would be nice if you guys would actually see what Syesha does with the song before you declare that she's butchered it and is going home for it. That
song is a hell of a lot better suited for Syesha than Carly's song is for her.

I disagree with this being the song that sends Syesha home. In my opinion, whether she bombs or if she nails it out of the park, singing that song alone will
get her to next week. It's one of the most well known songs around, and most of the other ones being sung tonight aren't known at all. She will be safe
unfortunately
I love Jason's choice though, he finally made the right selection. |

I think Syesha's choice was really stupid because you know the bitch will do the Whitney version even though she's gotten better reception over all for
not screaming (except from Randy). I kind of agree with louie though, the song might actually save her because it's so popular and known by like everyone.
Kristy's choice is interesting, most people myself included had Brooke down for that one. |

More scrutiny for choosing one of the most known songs of our time will either be the nail in her coffin, or the thing that saves her fake ass for at least another week. |

Don't people already think she think she's Whitney and she sucks?

high.
And for me, even if she somehow does, it's still distasteful to do someone else's version other than Dolly's when Dolly is right there.

Since it's Dolly week it would be nice to see Syesha actually take on the Dolly version of the song. She's an arrogant bitch though so you know
she's going for the Whitney glory note version.

I prefer Dolly Parton's version myself, but don't agree with those who say it will be disrespectful if Syesha decides to do the Whitney version instead. Had Dolly not written the song but just covered it then yeah... eta: Besides, I'm sure Dolly is grateful for the shit-loads of money she made off that song thanks to Whitney. |

Whitney's version is atrocious.

I don't think it's disrespectful for her to do the Whitney version, I just think she's dumb for doing it. Every time someone does Whitney they
shoot them down and tell them they're not.

Dolly's the MENTOR, though. I can't imagine she would just sit idly by and let Syesha scream her way through the song if she's ruining it.
Dolly's gonna have opinions. Syesha's not dumb. She's more likely than most to follow advice.
