I honestly can't name a single Dolly Parton song except Travelin Thru. Hopefully someone sings that, as it could definitely work for someone like Jason.

I'd like Brooke to take a whack at Islands In The Stream

I was thinking Archuleta would do "Coat of Many Colours" and dedicate it to all the poor people in America, like those ones he exploited after his
shitty performance of "Another Day in Paradise."
Either Syesha or Ramiele will do "I Will Always Love You." Ramiele is dumb and thinks she can do that kind of shit and she probably thinks "Alone" was only bad because she was sick so she'll go for the big song again. |

Funny how Archie only dedicates his performances after he bombs it.
Ramiele has a better lower register than a higher one, she should really be sticking to the tender songs, her version of SDHTSYLM was pretty slow paced with a few glory notes here and there. She'd do well with "I Will Always Love You", I think. |

Wow....this will be an interesting week. I like Dolly and think she is one smart cookie but her songs can mostly benefit an aspiring country star and when you only have one potentail country idol < Kristy > I don't think this is quite fair.
David Cook Shine Carly Eagle When She Flies Jason The Seeker Kristy Silver Threads and Golden Needles or Jolene Ramen Noodle 9-5 < what else? > Syesha I Will Always Love You or Island In The Stream Brooke Coat Of Many Colors or The Bargain Store David A Tennessee Homesick Blues ???? Michael Johns - her version of Stairway To Heaven

I'd love to see someone sing 9 to 5....not sure it fits any of the contestants tho. I think Carly could do well with it if she acts a little more relaxed
on stage...

My favorite Dolly songs go back a few years. These babes in woods would never know them, but some of her her earlier songs are my very favorite.
9-5 is the one I destet. I hate that song and I know I will have to suffer through it next week. |

Since Kristy has already sang Amazing Grace to get into the top 24, Maybe she should sing How Great Thou Art from the Golden Streets of Glory Album.

Here You Come Again is a good song too. I'd like to see someone sing it.

What a truly shitty theme week if it's only Dolly Parton songs...

Dolly! Dolly! Dolly!Filed under: American Idol > Dolly Parton
American Idol is about to get a whole helluvalot better! A special guest will be appearing on AI next week, and it's none other than… DOLLY PARTON! Ms. Parton will be a mentor to the finalists on April 1st and the night will be filled with her songs. And, for all the lucky viewers, Dolly will return on April 2nd to perform live. Dolly will be singing Jesus & Gravity, the second single from her new album Backwoods Barbie. It seems recent castoff Chikezie was set to perform Dolly's 9 to 5. Someone else better be singing that next week! Also performing next week will be The Clark Brothers. They're some bluegrass, country band that won The Next Great American Band. Yea, we didn't watch that either. Besides, everyone will be tuning in for Dolly! [Image via WENN.] |

Dolly, layering yourself with all of that pancake jizz doesn't equal "sexy"

Dolly must be getting a cut of the $ that these studio versions make on itunes. That would explain why it's all her songs. I heard Andrew Lloyd Weber week is only his songs as well. And you think this week will be bad... |
