For a research project, I'd like any information anyone can provide on the different challenges used on any of the international shows. A brief description is enough, and I've seen the books on the UK versions so I don't need that information.

Try finding the names of the international versions and googling them
They probably have a website like CBS does, if you're lucky maybe they'll have a challenge tracker.

The Australian survivors challenges were mediocre at best.
By far the most interesting was the "getting fire" challenge, where the tribes had to make a bonfire burn high enough to sever a rope. Unfortunately, the area they held the challenge was prone to high winds, which blew the fire out. A trivia contest was held the next day to decide who won immunity. Another challenge was a spin-off of the American "directing teammates" challenge. Instead of all except one team member being blindfolded, only one team member was blindfolded...and they were both behind the wheels of brand new cars. The rest is pretty straight forward. Both tribes had to direct the driver through a slalom type course. Of course, only one person could win the car, so the winning tribe drew keys out of a bag. And who won it? The only member of the tribe who couldnt drive... The rest of the challenges were almost carbon copies of the American challenges, except mainly mental. There was only one physical challenge, and even THAT fell flat. |

There a two challenges I can think of that MB (S:OZ was filmed around the same time Marquesasa was filmed) reutilized was
1. Pontoon platform stands on the water as in Marquesas 2. The stick grab while attached to a bungie cord (we saw that in Amazon) The F3 challenge was unique in that they had to light a lantern then raise it as close to 30 minutes as possible. I saw that challenge reused for S:UK 2 |
