Posts: 123 (07/06/13 2:06 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	With the death of Frenchie and Carl, and the previews shown - is anyone worried that the writers are going WAY to fast getting everyone (important) off the island in order to focus on getting back to the island? I was hopping for some epic battles, alliances and betrayals, surprise twists - all ending with a stalemate (which brokers the deal in which the O6 leave on the condition that the survivors will not be harmed in return for their silence). Instead, it sounds like we will get a "these people get off the island and these don't" one-episode invasion, conflict, resolution. Seeing how large the island is, can one freighter full of people (20-40 people) successfully control the island? The US can't even control Iraq with the entire military. I'd even be happy with a quick retreat of the losties and some good old fashioned guerrilla warfare. Oh, and Libby was only used to set viewers straight that this was not a flashback (the baby pic of Walt and Michael was shown to make people think that the beginning of the episode - car crash - was a flashBACK. OK - rant over

Trees, lights, etc. Not sure how that works in with the timeline, but I noticed it the second time. Also, there was a very interesting scene with Alex and Karl right at the beginning ... She is doting on baby Aaron and then she and Karl turn and cuddle for a sec and she has her hand on her stomach. I think that Alex might be preggers? Ben would disapprove on SOOO many levels.

It's most likely that all of them have some mission or something to accomplish, much like Sayid's hit list. Part of the story still unwrit is what is it Jack's supposed to be doing? And Hurley, Kate, Sun? There's a quid pro quo somewhere, and not a passive, altruistic one either.

I thought we just supposed to follow Ben's eyes as he watched Karl all over Alex. As though to lead us to believe that Karl and Frenchie were killed, by his command. Alex would have been killed had those just been random bullets. Of course, I wouldnt put it past them to have yet another pregnant woman on the island.

I have officially joined the ISTDRIA club... please, I want to see her story. And 4 weeks??? OMG, thats a long time for me to stay clean... the spoilers are what would get me through the dry patches last year... o.0

I was totally stunned when Danielle agreed with Ben, but I figured Ben was just going to get Karl out of the way because he doesn't want Alex pregnant (but I too thought she already was but hadn't told anyone). Shooting Danielle would be a great way to get Alex to think it's the Losties or freighties & to play with her mind to get her back under his control. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The timeline is a little weird - the only thing I can imagine is that Ben had one of his people that Michael had never met circle the island to 'rescue' Michael & Walt quickly. Was there a date stamp on Michael's arrival in Fiji to get on the freighter? I imagine they would not have had to leave much before 12/18 or so, but I can't get my head around the amazing recovery after a head-on like that.

The island needs the inner vitality of some people to feed itself. Once the island doesn't need you anymore, it stops healing you or prohibiting you from dying. . . . . . . After all we have seen, it wouldn't surprise me if he survived an under water grenade explosion I watched the Season 3 DVD Bonus disc before the season 4 premiere and in the commentary one of the producers ran down a list of dead characters and was careful to note some characters as "dead" (I think Mikhail was one of them), but then used the word "gone" to describe Bea Klugh. I also expect the sniper to be an Other that we thought was dead like Mikhail or Bea.

My BF (who has only seen two episodes) thinks Ben killed them. He's got 'people' out there and wanted them to be killed. I know he was trying to get rid of Karl before, and i can imagine him and Rousseau don't have much love lost. Anyone else agree with this?

I wasn't really crazy about the character. However, I did enjoy the episode a lot! It differed somewhat from the other episodes... major characters like Jack and Kate didn't appear at all......and we got to learn more about the Freighties....we got to learn more about how Michael became Kevin Johnson and how he came to work as Ben's spy on the ship. Hilarious moments were when Michael decided to kill himself- but failed to do so :lol I really really hope that Danielle isn't dead. I don't really care about Karl though. Poor Alex!! All that happening in front of her very eyes!

Could their shots have come at a different time (a la Faraday's payload/missile) or whatever and hit Danielle and Karl? With the amount of time compression on this show, sometimes it's difficult to keep things straight. Harold Perrineau has been off the show for nearly two whole years. Yet on the show, less than a month passed between the time he left the island and last night's episode. Also, we wondered, when did Tom find time to get off the island during that month before he died? To answer these questions, here is a simple timeline using the days on the island to try and pinpoint when the flashbacks took place. Day 67 (Saturday, November 27, 2004):: -Michael and Walt are released in the boat get off the island. Day 67-Day 74: -Tom and the rest of the Others are at the Hydra Station, interrogating Jack, Kate and Sawyer. Tom is present throughout, including during Ben's surgery. Day 80-Day 81: -Locke, Kate, Rousseau and Sayid see Jack playing football with Tom. -The Others (Tom included) head off to the Ruins. Day 87: -Naomi lands on the island. This timeline results in some serious issues fans should have with time. When Ben calls Michael on the radio, he is in his home in the barracks, which means that scene takes place on Day 81 at the latest. In other words, two weeks after leaving the island, Michael is on the freighter coming back. Also, this means that Tom's visit to New York City must have taken place between the time at Hydra and the time he's seen playing football with Jack. This covers roughly a one week span that takes place one week after Michael leaves. This makes almost no sense. Michael left in the boat, he had to find help, come ashore, somehow explain himself, get on a plane back to New York City, drop off Walt to live with his grandma, find an apartment, get into a car accident, recover, and only then did he meet Tom. Either the writers are playing fast and loose with the concept of time, or Michael had the busiest week in the history of the world. Source This show is way too confusing.
