I only bought an expensive one because I was under the impression he'd loan me $50,000 interest-free. We both knew he would be retiring shortly, but it turns out he now needs the money in case he wants to buy a boat or something. My own father screwed me over. :-(

Posts: 16463 (03/23/08 4:01 PM) MESS member Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	1st rule in buying a house - never, ever count on family for help my FIL came over to "help" us find a house then proceded to try to cut himself in for part of the deal as a real estate agent. plus it's his money, he could do like a friend's dad did and go to vegas and spend every single penny he has gambling, then die, leaving my friend's step mom destitute and my friend with nothing (he expected nothing so, he was ok with it).
