I was hit with a belt, made to go pull a switch off the switch tree, smacked in the face and generally abused. And I grew up to love S&M. Go figure.
I don't like kids and I know that if I would have one, I may lean towards physical abuse, because it is all I knew, so therefore, I plan on having NO kids. Problem solved. |

Babies, you can't spank. They are too young and dumb to really know what's going on. However, at like 2 yrs old....shape up or face the consequences. |

Never had to use spanking as a tool for punishment either.
My son punished himself when he was a preschooler. He'd do something naughty, I'd catch him in the act and his next words would be "I'll be in my room for time-out" My daughter was a little more trying at that age...always pushing her boundaries, but I didn't resort to spanking with her either. I just don't think it's effective at all. I do want to spank a few of her friends parents though (and not in a good way) |
