That shot of the bandaged fingers was Alexis. She hurt her hand in the Reward Challenge.

Yeah, when I saw the close-up of Alexis' bandaged fingers, I was like, "Uh-oh, here it comes

Oh, so it was Alexis huh but who chopped off their fingers? I think it's another false story.

It's a false story. When Coby was spoiling the season he said that an "older woman" would try to chop her fingers off. He never said it was
Kathy but I guess we all figured it would be. Guess we were wrong. Granted, Kathy wasn't the only "older woman" out there. With Tracy gone
(she and Kathy were about the same age, if you can believe it), the only other person who would qualify as an "older woman" would be Cirie...

I still can't believe we have SUPER FANS that are quitters!!!

I'm going to express a pretty unpopular opinion but I don't care...
I don't get all the hysteria on this board when people quit. OK some quitters are total trash like Osten and Chet but most of the time I'm like, OK but this is SURVIVOR. Didn't people think from the name that people would be unable to survive and some would? IMO this show could have had a ton more quitters and it shows how many tough people they cast. So Kathy was one of the few people who didn't Survive and I guess she couldn't imagine just how bad it is. I say it's better than killing yourself or going mad from stress! Kathy was obviously going slightly mad in the literal sense (arguably she started at mad and was headed toward Lillian level), if she hung out who knows, she might have got better. Or maybe been our first Survivor suicide. We can't know, but it was her choice to quit and that doesn't make her a horrible person, maybe she's weak but you know she tried and she couldn't handle the game anymore. Not all of us Sucksters could handle being rained on and bitten by spiders and all this day and night either, having to live in a fucking dank dark smelly disgusting cave, I bet. I still love Kathy for being entertaining and a true mother for her kids and I feel like she did her best in the challenges that her body could allow. It never looked like she slacked to me. Kathy and Cirie on Exile, was still in my top 5 moments of the season, so I got to give her props. This IS Sucks though, I can't stop people from hating the quitters but myself I can't drag myself into giving hatred to Kathy. She was one of the good people who couldn't take it, as opposed to the true quitters who are mentally weak but physically strong and have no reason to leave, and those are the people I really hate. YMMV. |

One would think that being a Survivor fan board there are a bevy of people who actually apply for this show and must hate watching the quitters take up a spot
on a show they themselves would love to be on.
Then there are the others, like most of us here, who love Survivor and the theme, one of which is NOT quitting. You know the fucking show you're going on, you know it's called "Survivor" and yes you get rained on in your shelter but you're also playing for money that is unfathomable to most of America. Thus the hate. You aren't mentally strong then don't go on fucking Survivor, go on Big Brother. -SJ™ |

Yeah, I've never hated quitters as much as people around here. I don't consider it "wasting a spot" either. The people who say that probably
would die if they made it on the show anyway. Not everyone can be a super duper athlete and survival expert, and I like seeing people out of their element who
can't handle it. Granted, it's more impressive and fun when those types do stick it out, but not everyone is like that either! And out of the 247
people who have played the game, there's only been like 6 or 7 true quitters. Not that bad. Kathy still survived for 3 weeks out there and gave us more
entertainment than any of the other superfans.
The only quitter that pissed me off was Ian considering there was one day left and he only did it to win over a fat chick. |

So Kathy imposter, can you tell me again why the fuck you quit!
I was cold and wet and hungry and didn't get any sleep
Damn, in my season we started out with NO food we didn't have a nice warm cave and got almost no sleep! Why else are you a lousy fucking quitter
Well, I was an outcast, no one liked me I was suppose to be the first booted by I had the immunity thingy! It was so hard being along out there with no friends
you think thats bad! I was going to be the first boot and everyone made me sleep in the rain, they all hated me! But I still came back to make the final 3 and if my season was like yours where the final 3 are voted on I would have won!
WAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! I am scairt I miss my family and I can't feel them! I can't feel my hand either WAAHHHHH Jeffrey Probst please take me away !! WAAAHHHHH |

I think Kathy probably had several near-breakdown moments throughout her stay on the island. It's just that she probably usually had Chet, Tracy, or
Jonathan around to calm her down and make her feel better. Without her friends, she couldn't deal. She was definitely too unstable to be cast in the
first place. Slightly "off" people work for shows like Big Brother and The Apprentice, but making it through Survivor takes mental strength and it
was clear from Episode 1 that she didn't have that.

Funny snippets from Goddess Kathleen's RNO interview:
Kathy: Pretty much anything I thought was going to happen, the second we got into the boat for that opening shot kind of changed. It's odd how you can see little cliques forming even before you can speak to each other. I saw that coming and said uh oh. I said, like wow, am I like the oldest person here? Where are my Yau-Mans? Where are my Rudys? Kathy: Yeah. I knew that, but as I told Jeff, it just gives me hope that I'll be one step closer. I was watching the show last night and said that girl, whoever she was, she looked really happy to get on that boat. It was amazing the isolation out there, when I lost Tracy and Chet. And I got really close to Jonathan, and then when he left, I was like, "oh crap." James and Amanda had each other, Alexis and Natalie [had bonded]. Eliza, I love her to death, but she can be… not real welcoming. I felt complete and utter isolation out there. When Penner left, that kind of killed me. I said I've got to be the unluckiest person on the island. Everyone I bond with is gone. Kathy: I have been much better. I came home and I looked at my husband and I said, "What the hell have I done?" But I have to tell you, besides marrying my husband and giving birth to my daughter, that was the third happiest moment, getting on that boat. It was a sense of hope, it was hopeless. I tried so hard to get in with people, and I lost Tracy and Chet and Penner left the show, I couldn't get in with anybody. It just - I was really happy when I got on that boat. Kathy: I loved James, such a gentleman, funny, we had lots of conversations. But I had to tell him, you're such a low talker - on China you had subtitles! (laughs) Jonathan and I laying in the shelter. I asked him some things about his mother and asked if he was picked for that. He said no, it was because he is Jewish. I said I didn't know you were Jewish. Why are they mad at Jews? Is it because they killed Jesus? {I feel I should note that Kathy was laughing about this the whole time she told the stories and it was obviously another Kathy moment, much like earlier in the show with Chet - it wasn't offensive like it might seem in print.} We had a lot of fun conversations. Parvati, I love her. What they showed of her on Cook Islands - she would flirt with a coconut. She's a sweet, sweet person. Of all the people I'm most surprised of, it's her. She talks and acts that way to everybody - guys, women, trees, dirt, whatever. She's a very sweet person. She of all people surprised me, meeting her and getting to know her. Kathy: I guess Joel going that he didn't like me as a person - and I'm like, what the hell did I do to you? He kind of was a bully out there. Kathy: Here comes the part my husband said I have to practice. Let's see if I can say this with a straight face: (Adopting a somewhat robotic tone.) It was a wonderful experience, I'm so glad I actually got to live a dream that I had. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and it hammered home the fact that if you don't have family you don't have anything. (Loosening up a bit.) It just reinforced some facts some things in life for me, what are important and what's not. (Back to robotic.) I'm so happy for the opportunity. (Laughing.) Is this sounding believable? RNO: (Also laughing.) Not so much. Kathy: Darn it, I have to work on that. But it was the most horrid wretched experience of my life. To actually do it and live the dream and meet my favorites, even though I know they are regular Joes who happened to be on TV before me. It was an experience that really hammered home priorities for me. They kept asking me out there if I would ever do it again. Why would you come and do it twice? And they're calling me crazy?! That's crazy! (Laughing.) <3 |

Another innocent moment from Kathy ala " Chat, you're gay right?"
RNO: What did you think of your fellow tribemates on the switched-up tribe? Kathy: I loved James, such a gentleman, funny, we had lots of conversations. But I had to tell him, you're such a low talker - on China you had subtitles! (laughs) Jonathan and I laying in the shelter. I asked him some things about his mother and asked if he was picked for that. He said no, it was because he is Jewish. I said I didn't know you were Jewish. Why are they mad at Jews?
