I don't get how you race around rugged terrain with an atomic bomb in the back of your SUV without it going off. Yeah, I realize it's not TNT, but dayum....

And it was good to see Mom again.

I just know we're gonna be left hanging big time again next week. I hope another network picks up this show if CBS doesn't have the nads to do it. 'Cause God knows....CBS might need the slot for yet another CSI spin off.

While of course it was great and kept me hooked for the whole hour, I was left with the feeling that last night's episode was the weakest one of the second season. Not even Ma Green and Grandpa Green or Hawkins losing the bomb could save it from getting that label.

I couldn't believe it when they actually GAVE Super Skeet a reason to be unshowered. URG.

and I loved how the Rangers went all "Delta Force" to break Super Skeet outta the Hog Barn.

I feel the show's rushed...how can they finish the whole thing with only one ep left?

So is there a season 3 or not?

The problem is that if CBS doesn't...the other networks who are interested still need time to decide....but they have to air the finale next week...?

Jericho Nuked by CBS

Aw, nuts.

Despite getting a fan- (and legume-) powered reprieve, CBS has given the heave-ho to Jericho.

The latest-and likely final-cancellation of the apocalyptic series came Friday, per the Hollywood Reporter, after CBS execs determined the resurrected series had not generated big enough ratings. The season/series finale will air Tuesday night.

CBS has yet to comment on the axing, though a formal announcement is expected later today.

However, in what's no doubt an attempt to ward off another 25-ton delivery of peanuts to the network's New York and Los Angeles offices, the Reporter claims that two potential endings for the series have been filmed, and the one chosen for air isn't as definitive as it could have been.

Per the Reporter, the selected ending won't necessarily preclude the series from coming back to the airwaves, albeit on cable, if at all. Producers have been told the show's run on broadcast television has ended.

Last June, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler, in the wake of the enthusiastic peanut-sending campaign that has already gone down in the annals of TV fandom, ordered a seven-episode second season of the show, hailing the overwhelmingly persuasive nature of sending the nuts-an idea borne from a line in the inaugural season's finale-but warned that "for there to be more Jericho, we will need more viewers."

Unfortunately, follow-through doesn't appear to be Jericho fans' strong suit. The show has continually been on the losing end of the Nielsen fight since its relaunch last month. After the new season premiered, Jericho suffered one of its sharpest declines ever, losing nearly a quarter of its viewers from the previous week.

It does, however, continue to be a bankable hit online, both as one of CBS' Innertube's most-watched shows and as an iTunes performer. The second-season premiere sold more than 700,000 copies, making it one of iTunes' most downloaded shows.

JERICHO!! Again!!

Producers created two endings for "Jericho's" second-season finale - a cliffhanger and a not-cliffhanger - and it looks like they'll be using the not-cliffhanger on Tuesday.

Ratings for season two are even lower than the season one ratings that precipitated the show's first cancellation.

Will Robert Hawkins' bomb finally wipe the last little bit of Kansas off the map for good?

I guess we have to wait to see what the last line is in the last episode to see what the Jerico fans send to CBS. If the producers had some brains, they might work something into the script that they really want, like a wide screen plasma TV.

How's this for Jake's final line? "Daniel Benzali's character, we will come after you like a fleet of Jaguars!!"

Nah. CBS is smart and they learn. Jake's last words to Hawkins will be "You owe me a $20 bill." Then they sit back and wait.

I just watched the last episode of the season on my TiVo then logged on and saw this. I can't really say I'm surprised. This show's storyline has been allllllll over the map. It can't seem to really decide what sort of show it wants to be. The whole Iraq parallel thing didn't seem like it would be too appealing to me - other shows have tried this and failed - so it was a surprising storyline angle.

Maybe it will get picked up by SciFi or someone. I think a show like this would do better on cable than network. Network expectations of ratings are much too large to support a show that only appeals to some. But, since that "some" is very loyal, I give it decent odds of finding another home.

I love this show, but I can see why it didn't get a mass audience. It might freak people out. It's a scary as hell concept.

This just in

thanks for the addresses. Leave it to CBS to do this to us on a Holiday Weekend huh.

The efforts that were discussed were
1) Helping people fix the registration problems at the the Sci-Fi forum.
2) Sending thank yous to Carol Barbee.
3) Flags to CBS/Paramount
4) Letters to potential new networks.

Now, #4 is the tough one and we have feelers out to multiple "contacts" to see what networks are the best targets.

While there was some conflicting information given on Shauns show last night, the two at the moment were USA and Sci-Fi.

There are a few people who have some contacts and are working today to get some clarification as to which of the two, if not a third would be the one to target.

So I ask, please be patient. The goal will be when a network is target to include a ratings comparison of Jericho's worst day to their top shows best day. While jericho didnt pull in ratings worthy of a stay at CBS, the numbers they get appear quite good on another (cable) network.

If you are chomping, and I know you are, as we all need a way to vent right now, start writing the thank you's to Carol.

For those not there, they could include our appreciation of quality programming, her participation in the campaign, whatever you choose.

The goal is to show Carol and the others that we want them to try and shop Jericho. That we are still here and we will follow Jericho wherever they take it. Motivate them to not give up, our fight is no good without their fight.

And don'd just stick to Carol. Write to them all, thank them, tell them to fight, tell them we believe in the continuance of Jericho.

The General will be posting more around 6 or 7 this evening.

Hang in there. There will be plenty to do come this evening.

as for SciFi, I listened to Shaun OMacks radio interview w/Dan Shotz and Karim ???? (2 of the exec producers) and THEY said SciFi had passed on picking up the show. Some still want to pressure them.....I'm sure we'll know more tonight.

The thing is, a lot of articles are saying that it is unlikely to be picked up by a cable network because of the high production costs. I suppose they could severely cut back on their budget, but still. Although I would love to see it stay alive despite any cutbacks or changes, so I hope this campaign is just as strong as the last one.

Well, it sucks that this show's not coming back. It's sad to think that retarded Americans prefer to watch 5th grader or Deal or No Deal or This Fat Kid's Dad is a bigger loser than that ugly kid's dad.....

Anyway, if they want to shop around other Networks...they better do it show...I don't know if the actors are willing to wait around...they might end up having other work/projects and may not want to come back to Jericho...
