Randy lost all credibility he ever had (which was very little anyways) when he told Brooke that she didn't make Love is a Battlefield her own, yet she made
it a completely different song

You guys are being a little harsh on Archuleta. He is pretty talented and has a really great backstory. The virgin birth, the king trying to kill him, turning
water into caffeine-free coke, and I read in US Weekly that he still intends to die for our sins.
Give the kid a break. |

I think they need all new judges, maybe not Cowell since he appears to be popular with viewers unless they get someone who is like him, I'm bored with Randy and Paula's same comments over and over. Basically, they don't even have to show up, just use old footage and edit it to be faster. |

I agree with every single post here. This is as infuriating as Top Model.
I also agree with the comment that Brandon Green, Josiah, etc. were all eliminated before they were due. It's all part of their masterful plan to garner as much tween audience as possible in the beginning, keep them hooked, then cut the threats to Devil Child so the votes would accumulate for him. They're gradually doing it to Michael Johns now. Fuck them dead. |

God, this season is going to be as bad as last season or even season three.
Why do they even bother giving America the illusion they're contributing to the process when they set it up for a certain contestant to win? |

I've always been a Simon fan, even when I disagreed with him, but he was ridiculous tonight- especially regarding Carly. But I don't think he takes
instructions from TPTB. I think it's all him. However I do agree that Josiah was cut because he would steal some of Archuleta's fans- and I like the
demon child.

I don't think it helped that Josiah did not exactly seem stable. Huge hysterical breakdowns might be amusing for the producers in they take place during
bad auditions, but not in the later stages.
Don't forget about when he decided Simple Minds was INXS by another name. |

Has anyone heard his shitty music project/CD? It really only has a handful of decent songs.

I don't really mind the pimpage if the person is good. It is the really crappy ones that bother me. If one more judge tells Amanda she is good and
"just what this competition needs" I will seriously flip out.
What really bothers me is the banter between Seacrest and Simon. It is annoying when they make it about them and not the contestants. Ryan is worse then ever this season. |

Quick reality check: Josiah would have been strictly VTFW bait.

Randy is by far the worst of the three. Every time he says "pitchy" or "It was just alright for me", I want to gouge my eyes out with a spork. Total agreeance. Except change "my" to "his" and "spork" to "machete". Usually it's kind of entertaining when Simon's at maximum flow but he was just a massively unfunny twunt last night. Brought a shitty night even deeper into the raw sewage. |

Quick reality check: Josiah would have been strictly VTFW bait. Agreeance. He was awful. He rightly was cut. He destroyed Lean On Me. At that point in the competition, you must deliver and he did not. |

The Archuleta pimpage is blatant and obvious... but that's nothing new. They'll pimp him, he'll win and they'll be hit with serious regret
when his career bombs and the teenage girls wake up to the fact that he's a stage kid fraud.

Let's be honest...
Simon shouldn't even be a judge on the show, as he is to sign the contestant "America" "votes" on to be the American Idol. From day one I've always seen this as a huge conflict of interests. Then the title of "American Idol" is cheapened even more by the fact that Simon and Co have the contractual rights to control every aspect of the finalist's potential careers as well as sign from the talent pool of also-rans. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a "first born child" clause thrown in there some place and if the contracts were really signed in blood. At any rate, this show amounts to indentured servitude for a desperate struggling artist. They work for TPTB for around 7 yrs. and then earn their release. Few are lasting more than a couple of seasons. Just long enough for the next big "Idol" to come along.

Why they're pimping Amanda is beyond me. The bitch sucks and she needs to go the fuck home. I'm baffled every week when they compliment her. In one breath they say "this is a singing competition" and right afterwards they'll trash someone who sang well but was wet or dry or boring or not colourful enough and tell someone like Amanda how great they are when she can't even sing well. |

Nope. His last big hit was in 2004.Clearly you're not keeping up with Will's career. He's still very successful and it's not true that his last big hit was in 2004. "All Time Love" went to #3 on the UK chart in 2006, and his 3rd album went 3x Platinum in the UK and debuted at #2 on the charts. He's working on his 4th album now and I'm sure it will be just as wonderful as his last three. An amusing tidbit I found while seeking out of the real facts is that in both 2006 and 2007 he was voted Favourite UK Artist of All Time (his competition being people like Robbie Williams, Spice Girls and Paul McCartney) so obviously he hasn't faded into obscurity like you seem to think and people still love him. |

Why they're pimping Amanda is beyond me.How is giving her middling comments and the very first performance slot in a two hour show pimping? I've actually come to enjoy Amanda (I'd rather have someone slurring and rocking out than this season's crop of ballads, more shrieking, more smarmy, "I'M ADORABLE!!" sunshine performances) but I know she's going to be gone very soon and I assume the show knows the same. At the most she will make early tour, and based on her comments to Simon last night, she probably doesn't even expect that. I'm glad they haven't thrown the kitchen sink at her, because they knew what she was like when they put her through, and their basically being hands off has allowed her to go from being completely shut down on stage to having a lot of fun. |
