Jenn: There's no turning back. Nicole: How do people EAT THIS?? Nicole: I'm gonna puke. Phil: They, however, overcame the Fast-Forward and finally came in first. Phil: You are team number ONE! Jenn: FINALLY. Phil: Meanwhile, the other teams had problems navigating the confusing and crowded streets of Singapore's own Little India. Thomas: Oh my god. This could be even more confusing than Dhaka… Henry: This doesn't look right, Florence… Phil: Henry & Florence made a costly blunder… Henry (re-reading the clue): You must purchase TWO sets… Florence (conf): At that point, we knew we were DONE. Phil: …and continued to bleed more time as they failed to work together. Henry: FLORENCE! GET OVER HERE!! Florence: THERE IT IS, YOU DIMWIT. Phil: In the end, however, it was Thomas & Zoey and Jason & Nicholas who had to outrace each other to avoid elimination. Nicholas: They're right on our heels. Phil: Jason & Nicholas gained the lead… Nicholas: SAVED. Phil: …but lost it due to leaving critical race documents at the sky tower. Jason: YOU HAD THE CLUES BRO! Zoey: OH MY GOD. WE'RE STILL IN IT? Phil: It proved too costly as Thomas & Zoey managed to beat them in a footrace to the end, sealing their fates. Jason: That sucks. Phil: Now… only 4 teams remain. And this… is the Merlion Statue, a trademark symbol of Singapore for decades. This statue was the tenth pit-stop in a race around the world. Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg for a mandatory rest period. The 4 remaining teams have no idea what's in stored for them or where they're heading next. This next leg will be crucial as this will be the final elimination leg, deciding which 3 teams will make it to the Final 3 and race for the million dollars. Can Jenn & Nicole maintain their new found position at the top of the pack? Will the oldest team left, Henry & Florence, continue to do well, after two consecutive strong finishes? And on the flipside, after being next-to-last for two legs in a row, will Thomas & Zoey be eliminated at the last pit-stop? Which team will claim the last Fast-Forward left in the race? SIA Agent: Yes, there are plenty at the moment. Jenn: Alright, thanks again. they walk away Jenn: Looks like everyone's gonna get on the same flight. Nicole: Oh well, lead lost. Michael (conf): The airport incident…? HUMILIATING. Michael & Tiffany ended up getting on the same flight as J/N and H/F Tiffany: Get over it, Michael. We're still getting on the same damn flight anyway. Michael: Yeah, I know. I know. Henry (conf): The look on Michael's face? PRICELESS. Tiffany: We thought you were already in the last leg or something… Jenn: Nah. Apparently there aren't any early morning flights to Cambodia. Go figure. Nicole (conf): Losing our lead felt terrible, really… Thomas & Zoey's taxi arrives at the airport and they enter the airport and see the other teams Zoey: EVERYONE'S HERE, DAD. Thomas: This is exactly what we were hoping for! Zoey (conf): We were just SO RELIEVED when we saw the every single team there at the airport. Zoey: We're all even again. Thomas: Oh boy… I LOVE this game. Jenn: Welcome to a whole new definition of bunching. Nicole: Oh boy… they purchase tickets on the same flight as the rest of the teams to Phnom Penh and now all 4 teams are boarding the flight http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/gabrielwlj/actionintensity2.mp3 Phil: All 4 teams are now making their way via Singapore Airlines on the same flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Upon landing, teams have to drive themselves to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a high school formerly used as a prison and a torture & execution facility by the Khmer Rouge regime. Once there, teams will have to search through the facility for one of four well-hidden clues while having to face a rush of emotions, brought about by the tragic and horrific past of the facility. the flight lands in Phnom Penh at 11.05am Jenn: C'mon, Nicole! Let's go! First ones out! Nicole: We gotta keep this lead! Henry: Florence! Keep a lookout for the marked cars! Michael: We gotta find our cars quick! Jenn: NICOLE, NICOLE. Here it is! Nicole: Oh my goodness… Nicole (conf): First look at the car and I was gasping. It was old; it was dirty and just looked almost completely inoperable. Nicole: Are you kidding me? Jenn: Oh my god, get in you bitch. Nicole: Alright, slut. Jenn (conf): We forgot that this was a family show. Nicole (conf): Oops. Nicole: Alright. The inside is about just as bad as the outside. Jenn: I think it's worse, honey. Nicole: Well, I need directions to the Tuol Sleng place or whatever… Jenn: Just go straight and exit at the SECOND exit. Nicole: Okay. Nicole: Wow. I feel a sense of oppression already. Jenn (conf): It was really freaky in the sense that both of us FELT the feeling of oppression before we even left our cars. Nicole (conf): It was pretty scary. -Currently in 2nd place- Michael: Oh my god. This is the place... Tiffany: Ohhh man! Michael (conf): Even though we were so focused on the race, you just couldn't help but feel a sense of despair once you entered the compound. Jenn: Alright, we gotta read the tablet… Nicole (conf): And then we had to read the history of the place… Tiffany: C'mon, Michael. We gotta read the tablet thing aloud. Jenn: From 1975 to 1979, an estimated 17,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng. Nicole: Even though the vast majority of the victims were Cambodian, foreigners were also imprisoned, including Vietnamese, Laotians, Indians, Pakistanis, Britons, Americans, New Zealanders and Australians. Michael: Upon arrival at the prison, prisoners were photographed and required to give detailed biographies, beginning with their childhood and ending with their arrest. After that, they were forced to strip to their underwear, and their possessions were confiscated. They were forbidden to talk to each other and were shackled in their cells at all times. Tiffany: The prisoners received four small spoonfuls of rice porridge and watery soup of leaves twice a day. Drinking water without asking the guards for permission resulted in serious beatings. The inmates were hosed down every four days. Jenn: The prison had very strict regulations, and severe beatings were inflicted upon any prisoner who tried to disobey. Almost every action had to be approved by one of the prison's guards. They were sometimes forced to eat human feces and drink human urine. The unhygienic living conditions in the prison caused skin diseases, lice, rashes, ringworm and other ailments. Nicole: Within two or three days after they were brought to S-21, all prisoners were taken for interrogation. The torture system at Tuol Sleng was designed to make prisoners confess to whatever crimes they were charged with by their captors. Prisoners were routinely beaten and tortured with electric shocks, searing hot metal instruments and hanging, as well as through the use of various other devices. Tiffany: Some prisoners were cut with knives or suffocated with plastic bags. Other methods for generating confessions included pulling out fingernails while pouring alcohol on the wounds, holding prisoners' heads under water as well as raping the females by the interrogators. Michael: Physical torture was combined with sleep deprivation and deliberate neglect of the prisoners. The vast majority of prisoners were innocent of the charges against them and their confessions produced by torture. Jenn: For the first year of S-21's existence, corpses were buried near the prison. However, by the end of 1979, cadres ran out of burial spaces, the prisoner and their family were taken to the Choeung Ek extermination center, fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh. There, they were killed by being battered with iron bars, pickaxes, machetes and many other makeshift weapons. Nicole: After the prisoners were executed, the soldiers who had accompanied them from S-21 buried them in graves that held as few as 6 and as many as 100 bodies. Jenn: This is... just... Nicole: I can't even say. both of them hug each other while crying Tiffany: Oh my gosh, Michael. Michael: I know, babe. they hug Jenn (conf): I just felt TERRIBLE. Nicole (conf): Anyone who has even a tenth of a human conscience would have felt SO bad for the people who were tortured and killed here. Jenn (conf): And then we had to enter the place where the very place where these people suffered so much… I just couldn't do it readily. Nicole: Are you ready to go in? Jenn: No… I can't… squats and cries Michael: We have to be strong, Tiffany. We're still racing. Tiffany: I know… Michael (conf): Yes, it was very sad but we're still racing for a million dollars dude. I think it's a matter of getting your priorities right and crying outside there ain't gonna change the fate of those people who are long gone. So I felt that Jenn was just being stupid and wasting her time. I mean, COME ON. I think that was so drama queen. Jenn: Just gimme a minute, Nicole. I'm sorry. Jenn (conf): It was genuine. I've NEVER felt like that before and I think all of us are just SO lucky that we don't have to go through what these people had to go through. Michael & Tiffany enter the facility Michael: Alright, we gotta find this thing quick. Tiffany: This place just makes me SICK. Tiffany (conf): Not that I didn't want to soak into the atmosphere of depression and oppression. Oh wait. I DON'T want to soak into that type of atmosphere. I feel the people's pain but sorry, I'm not going to sit there the whole time crying and watching the million dollars fly out the window. Tiffany: C'mon, you stupid clue! Where is it? Michael: Let's find this! Nicole (to Jenn): C'mon, Jenn. We're still racing! Jenn: Sorry, Nicole. Alright, I'm feeling better now… Let's find the clue and let's go. It is at this important pagoda in Phnom Penh where teams will find their next clue. Michael: Let's go! I'll drive, you navigate. Tiffany: Yeah, yeah, as usual. after reading the tablet… Florence: Let's give it a second please, Henry. Florence is visibly upset and Henry hugs her, to comfort her Florence (conf): It was definitely heart wrenching to read about the things that went on in that place. Henry (conf): It just really showed us how ugly humanity is sometimes. Florence: Alright, I'm ready. Let's go. Jenn: NICOLE! I GOT IT! Nicole: GOOD JOB, JENN! Thomas: Don't worry, Zo. We'll find it. The team that uses it and completes the task will be able to skip all remaining tasks left in the leg and go directly to the pit-stop. In this Fast-Forward, that team has to drive themselves to the Stung Meanchey Garbage Dump in Phnom Penh. What teams will only find out once they arrive at the dump is that they will have to search for one of 20 clues hidden amongst the 900 tons of garbage. The first team to find the Fast-Forward clue will win the Fast Forward award. This task not only depends on luck but also depends on the team's stamina, willpower and their ability to withstand the pungent smell of garbage. In Culture, teams will have to drive themselves to Apsara Arts Association and don traditional Khmer dance costumes. Then, the team will have to learn a segment of the Robam Tep Apsara, one of the most famous Khmer dances performed in Cambodia. Once the panel of judges is satisfied, teams will be handed their next clue. This task is not physical but requires finesse and skill and is also subjective. But teams with the right abilities could find themselves surging ahead. In Sport, teams will have to drive themselves to Club Baksei Chamkrong and take part in a full Khmer traditional wrestling match. Each team member must take on an amateur wrestler and win two matches against him or her by forcing their opponent to their backs. Once each team member has done this twice, they will receive their next clue from the judge. This task is physically straining but requires little skills and is objective and fair. On the first flight, arriving 25 minutes earlier is Thomas & Zoey and Henry & Florence. On the second flight is Michael & Tiffany and Jenn & Nicole. Once in Siem Reap, Thomas & Zoey will drive themselves to the pit-stop at Battambang, the Wat Ek Temple. Meanwhile, the other 3 teams will be driving themselves to the Landmine Museum in Siem Reap. Will Michael & Tiffany and Jenn & Nicole be able to catch up to Henry & Florence? And most importantly, which of them will be the last and final team to be eliminated from the race? the first flight lands in Siem Reap Thomas: ZOEY, LET'S GO. WE NEED TO HUSTLE! Henry: Enter the Landmine museum and… Phil: Teams must now enter the Landmine museum and then each team member has to don protective suit and then use special metal detectors to search for two landmines each in a landmine field. After teams find these landmines, they will watch it being detonated. What teams do not know is that these landmines are deactivated and will NOT explode when they are simply touched unlike active landmines. Henry: Are you kidding?! Florence: OH MY GOD! Henry (conf): The clue did not mention anything on whether the landmines were active or not. Florence: Won't we get blown up? Henry: I seriously doubt that the suit is gonna protect us much. Florence (conf): The beauty of Angkor Wat is just breath taking! Henry: Get the clue, Flo! Florence: Alright. -rips clue- Henry: Roadblock! Phil: A Roadblock is a task that only one person may perform. And no person can perform more than 7 on the entire race. In this Roadblock, one member must participate in a complicated and tricky puzzle set in the Angkor Wat temple. Firstly, teams are told that there are 10 marked areas which contain sachets of jigsaw puzzle pieces. The team member will have to find these marked areas and retrieve these sachets. However, the team member must realize that only sachets from those marked areas which are marked with serpent-like motifs are needed to complete the puzzle. They are given this clue in the Roadblock description question "Who has the ability to piece things up? Wat you need lies in the serpent" As for the rest of the pieces, they will be excessive. Once the team member correctly puts together the 100-piece jigsaw puzzle of the Angkor Wat temple, their next location will be revealed on the puzzle. The other team member may not assist them in this task in any way. Florence: I guess I'll do this one? Henry: Yeah sure. Florence (conf): With that Roadblock… I've done 7 Roadblocks. Henry (conf): So whatever is the Final Roadblock, I'll have to do it then. Henry: Go honey! You can do this! Florence (to herself): What does the serpent thing mean?? Florence (conf): It was definitely a tough Roadblock… scene shows Florence entering the marked areas marked with numbers (1-10) and getting sachets marked with the corresponding area numbers (1-10) and she returns to piece up the puzzle, in which the puzzle pieces have the numbers 1-10 to allow the racers to know which pieces belong to which sachets Florence (to herself): Okay… So I'm supposed to piece this up? Shoot. What about the serpent clue thingy? Florence (conf): I was definitely in self-doubt because I didn't get the whole serpent thing and I just started piecing the puzzle. I've done considerable reading up on monuments like Angkor Wat and the information was inside my head all along! scene shows Florence sorting out the puzzle pieces according to number and then running back up the monument Michael: What the hell? Is she done? Michael (conf): I was observing Florence and then I realized what the Roadblock was about. But shoot, I couldn't help Tiffany. Florence (to herself): Look for the serpent markings… YES! Florence (conf): And lo & behold… I figured it out! scene shows Florence checking all 10 areas and dropping the sachets of puzzle where there are no serpents and then returning to fix the puzzle Florence (to Henry): I got it figured out, honey. What the hell does that mean?! scene shows Tiffany going up the monument and similar to Florence, throwing away some sachets Jenn: Did I miss something up there? Crap. Maybe there's something related to the clue there. I'm going up, Nicole. Nicole: Go, go, go! she walks up and sees the Serpent markings in some of the areas and sprints down in a hurry Jenn: Oh my god! I feel so stupid! I know what it is! Tiffany already started working on the jigsaw Nicole: C'mon, Jenn! It's not too late! Jenn packs up her pieces and dumps the excess sachets and sprints down Jenn: Alright, I just have to piece these up. Nicole: Go, honey. You can do this!! Jenn: Oh my god. This is pressurizing. Michael: C'mon, Tiff! She's only just starting to piece the pieces up. Tiffany: Ssh! Don't distract me! Michael: Alright, alright. Jenn: This is the EASY part… Shoot. Florence (conf): I knew that Tiffany and Jenn would complete the Roadblock very quickly and I knew the race to the pit-stop was going to be really vicious. Henry: Right now we just need to get there and get it done! Florence: I know. Michael: I just know the pit-stop is coming soon. Tiffany: Oh my god we can't come in last on this leg! Michael: We're going to beat the girlfriends that's for sure. Jenn: Alright. I'm gonna go at the maximum legal speed now. Nicole: We need to do everything we can to survive this leg as of right now. Jenn: This is gonna be close. Florence: We're so close to the Final 3 but yet so far! Henry: I know! Henry (conf): Making the Final 3 means A LOT to us… Florence: YES! I saw a sign! Battambang… 10 kilometers away! Henry: The sign was in Cambodian, Florence. How the hell did you interpret it? Florence: Trust me. 10 kilometers away. Henry: Alright… Michael: Tiffany? Check the directions again. We can't afford to get lost now. Tiffany: Don't worry, Michael. We're going the right way. -rattle snake sound- Jenn: This is so nerve wrecking. Nicole: Being in last place is like this… Always at the edge of your seat. Jenn: Yeah, it's freaking terrifying! --- Florence: This is it. We're now in Battambang. Henry: Now we have to look for a statue of some sort? Florence: Yeah but we have no clue exactly where it is. Henry: Oh shoot. they find a statue Florence: This is it! Henry: C'mon, let's go! they search around Henry: There's nothing here! Florence: Damn it. This isn't in then. No! Florence (conf): First, we went to the wrong statue… they get back in the car Henry: I can't believe we have to resort to driving aimlessly. Florence: If you don't have a better idea, shut up. they continue driving Michael: Do you have any idea where the statue is when we reach Battambang? Tiffany: No… There's no indication whatsoever. They don't understand what I'm trying to say. Some are pointing left, some are pointing right and I'm pretty sure some guy pointed to the sky. Michael: What the hell… We're so screwed right now. Jenn & Nicole also arrive in Battambang just a couple of minutes after Michael & Tiffany Jenn: We need to find this statue, quick! Nicole: But we have no idea where the hell it is! -rattle snake sound- Henry: OH MY GOD. I SEE RACE FLAGS! Florence: OH MY GOD. Florence (conf): For a second, I thought we found the place. Henry: This doesn't look like a statue at all. Henry (conf): It soon became clear that something wasn't right. Florence: This doesnt' look right, Henry! There's no prominent statue or anything. Henry: Well, it's a bloody race flag there! Let's just go in and maybe we'll find something. Henry (conf): And all of a sudden… we saw Phil. Florence: Oh my god. This is the pit-stop! This sucks. We're not going according to our clue! Henry: Damn it. You know what, let's just try our luck and check in. Florence: This is so WRONG, I know it! they jog to the mat Phil: Henry & Florence... This temple, built in 1027 during the reign of King Sorayak Varman, is the eleventh and final pit-stop of the race. The last team to check in here WILL be eliminated. Florence: We know where the hell that is! Henry: YES. Let's go! We've been there, we've done that! Florence: WE'RE GOING TO THE PIT-STOP!! Henry: I just hope we didn't lose too much time. As for the leg itself, well the whole thing felt sort of familiar. The needle in a haystack Fast Forward, digging up a landmine. It felt like I'd seen it somewhere before. Can't wait for the finale!

I s'pose these two winning would be (to me) the most dissapointing result. They're kinda boring, they didn't have any of that conflict or any sort of really good story that Ronald & Christina. More like Gus & Hera. Nice people, but a little dull. Henry & Florence - The only team I really don't like. They got on that flight instead of Brandon & Alexa, and B/A were awesome. They're kinda like Raymond & Betty without the OTT sex themes... and that was all they had. Michael & Tiffany - I'm glad they scraped into the final 3. The only team that's not all nicey-nice. They've got a bit of conflict, and it'll be interesting to see how their story ends. Even though (like ADC said) they have next to no chance of winning, a guy can hope, right?
