FOX averaged a 10.7 rating/16 share in primetime, winning the night by a sizable margin over CBS, 6.7/11. ABC came in third with a 5.4/9. NBC's 4.3/7 took fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.3/2. Among the 18- to 49-year-olds that are gold to advertisers, FOX's 6.5 rating led the way. ABC finished second in the demographic with a 3.3, topping CBS' 3.0. NBC averaged 2.6 and The CW 0.8. "American Idol" scored a 14.9/23 at 8 p.m. as it revealed this season's finalists. CBS grabbed second with "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites," 7.3/11. A "Lost" rerun drew a 3.7/6 for ABC, beating an hour of "The Office" on NBC. A "Smallville" encore on The CW earned a 1.5/2. ABC moved to the lead at 9 p.m. with a new "Lost," 7.6/12. I just checked the TV Guide schedule and there is no episode listed for the week of March 27th. Big Brother 9 is scheduled at it's regular time on Wednesday, March 26 and the NCAA semi-finals are on the evening of Thursday, March 27.

Posts: 53 (03/14/08 2:28 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Survivor Micronesia drew the night's biggest audience, and for the first time this season it beats Lost .... take a look: CBS' still addictive Survivor: Micronesia kicked-off the evening with a dominant 13.06 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/13 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. While the ratings are not what they used to be, Survivor is still clearly winning the time period. Next was the return of Fox's Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (Viewers: #2, 9.33 million; A18-49: #2, 2.7/ 8), which does not get the credit it deserves, followed by an enhanced repeat of ABC's Lost (Viewers: #3, 5.34 million; A18-49: #3, 1.8/ 5), two repeat episodes of NBC's My Name is Earl (Viewers: #4, avg. 4.32 million; A18-49: #4t, 1.6/ 5), and an original installment of the CW's already renewed Smallville (Viewers: #5, 3.79 million; A18-49: #4t, 1.6/ 5). Sadly, My Name is Earl is not the type of sitcom that can ignite NBC on Thursday. ABC's Lost won the 9 p.m. hour, with 11.87 million viewers and a 4.8/13 among adults 18-49. Great episode last night, wasn't it? A repeat of CBS' CSI was second in total viewers (11.45 million) and fourth among adults 18-49 (2.9/ 8). Rounding off the hour was Fox's Don't Forget the Lyrics (Viewers: #3, 8.80 million; A18-49: #3t, 3.1/ 8), which is the perfect fit out of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, NBC's oddly appealing Celebrity Apprentice (Viewers: #4, 8.10 million; A18-49: #3t, 3.1/ 8 -- go Carol Alt!), and the CW's relocated Reaper (Viewers: #5, 2.81 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 3), which should have done better without original episodes of CSI and Grey's Anatomy in the competitive mix. Worth noting for Celebrity Apprentice was growth of 94 percent in the demo out of the My Name is Earl encores.

Overall, FOX averaged an 11.0 rating/17 share, romping over the 5.2/8 for NBC and CBS' 5.1/8. ABC was fourth with a 4.1/7, leaving The CW well back in fifth with a 1.9/3. FOX earned a 6.8 rating among adults 18-49, easily taking the key demographic. CBS was second with a 2.6 rating, while ABC's 2.1 rating and the 2.0 rating for NBC followed. The CW's 1.3 rating took fifth. "Moment of Truth" had a 6.8/11 in the 8 p.m. hour, edging the 6.7/11 for a special Wednesday "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorite" on CBS (though CBS' reality show had the advantage in total viewers). NBC was third with "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," which was barely ahead of the 3.9/6 for ABC's "Wife Swap." On The CW, "America's Next Top Model" had a 2.6/4. At 9 p.m. "American Idol" had a 15.1/23 for FOX. Nothing else was close. Another episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" had a 4.6/7 for NBC in second place. ABC's "Supernanny" was third with a 4.4/7, just ahead of the 4.3/7 for CBS' "Big Brother" airing. The CW's "Pussycat Dolls Present Girlicious" encore was fifth. NBC moved into first for the 10 p.m. hour, getting a 7.1/12 for "Law & Order." CBS' "CSI: NY" was second, beating the 3.9/7 for ABC's "Men in Trees."
