Anwar was openly gay and his gay personal ads were all over the Internet

Nice of you to name ONE in the past seven seasons...
Prior to this season, of course...but he still NEVER talked about it. |

Hey... you asked:
Also, have we EVER had a openly gay male in the top 10? I don't think so! And I set you straight.... or the record straight anyway. Of course, you also said: okay I am done :-) So tell me why I shouldn't locke this? |

Why do they need to talk about it?? I've never understood why people need to talk about their sexuality. It's only one aspect of their entire being,
not their whole identity. Anyone using their sexuality as their identity is a sad, sad person. There have been quite a few gay men in the top 10 on this
show...even a lesbian as I recall. But why does it matter? People shouldn't be thought of as gay or not.

Eh, I'm not really mad, but I do think BBMax is basically right. We had two gay kids who had gay-flavored controversy strike in the past two weeks, and
they were gone in 13th and 12th place. I think it's pretty much documented that the folks who run AI are rampantly homophobic. So... yeah.
A few years ago this would have upset me, but I'm so used to them fixing the results now it's just tiresome rather than upsetting. I do think that Hernandez didn't do very well last night and he had no shot at winning. This is not going to affect the overall competition that much. At least it's easier to keep the Davids apart now.

I thought the only people who voted were gay guys and young girls.

I'm sorry, Anwar totally escaped my mind. No shame in admitting I was inadequate with that one fact. Like I
said, one out of 70+ constestants, prior to this season.
As far as locking the thread...do as you may. I just wanted to make my point about Homosexuals feeling comfortable or getting a fair chance on the show that's all... |

I don't remember Anwar ever being openly gay. He had the profile someone found online and I don't think he ever talked about it when he was asked.

They get a fair chance...
If people don't want them in....they don't want them in. Here's a sad reality... people are bigots. Even people who think they are open minded hold prejudices. You can't have everything. I'm not saying it's acceptable...but it happens. There are many, many aspects of life where we are judged every day...and one's sexuality is only one of a long laundry list. |

Also, the producers are the ones mainly casting the show...so it's just frustrating knowing that many flamboyant gay males will most likely not be considered to be a contestant when there are SOOOOOO many who audition with wonderful voices. When they do (some, not all)...NO air time or they get voted off so soon. |

If anyone should be pissed off, it's the TALENTED people (gay, straight, whatever) that didn't make it
past Hollywood week, so that we may be graced with the likes of Rockin' Robbie Carrico, Jason Yeager, Amy Davis, KKKristy, Scroto Teabaggins, Amanda
Overrated, Colton Whatshisface, Joanne Porkzilla, Screamisha Alotto, and the likes...
and for those not following at home, straight males are quite the minority this season.

I don't think any of them necessarily should discuss their sexuality on the show, but I'm sure some of the gay people who have been on the show had had
significant others, possibly even in the audience who were never acknowledged. They don't have to like make out with them on camera, I mean even the
straight people don't do that with their boyfriends/husbands/girlfriends/wives but would it kill AI to put Ryan's Boyfriend in the little caption when
they show them instead of "Ryan's Family and Friends."

abrahammy wrote: I absolutely agree with every single word you said. I do believe heart and soul that TPTB at AI...and Nigel for certain, are quite disgustingly homophobic, and it's odd to me that Danny (who Dial Idol had at third place...not that DI is gospel or anything, but hello) and David Hernandez, who sucked last night but was and is a definitely talented singer, go out right after one another. Well, my pre-season favorites were Danny Noriega and David Hernandez, so I guess I should thank AI for freeing up two hours of my Tuesday evenings and an
hour every Wednesday evening, as well. Now I don't need to watch, because although I like Brooke White, and would likely buy her CD, I don't really
care about watching her or any of the other 11 left.

It's the exact same thing you cow. For some people their sexuality is a small slice of who they are, for other people it's a larger slice, who are you to judge what people decide to make up their identity? It's comments like that give your deserved reputation. |

Several gays in AI
AI7= Colton Berry, Danny Noriega, David Hernandez if AI was homophobic, there would be NO gays on the show |

Scandals of any kind are normally the kiss of death on AI. The Hawt Slut got voted out last year after her pictures were all over the net. She has another
thing in common with David H ... she couldn't sing worth a shit either.

On the other hand they might not want to talk about it though because as sickening as it is talking about their significant other would probably cost them a
lot of votes. They could probably play a clip of one of the many girls who has gotten a kiss from her husband on the show and a clip of a guy getting a kiss on
the cheek from his boyfriend back to back and many people would think nothing of the first but not vote for the guy based on his clip. "ZOMG HE'S GAY,
WE CAN'T VOTE FOR HIM!!!111"
