I have not been watching American Idol because I get fed up with the damn over the top everyone talking about it these days... Missing the older AI days. But I saw part of his hello performance on the View and well... I will be watching from now on:) I hope he wins it all. On top of that... He lives in the KC area so he is a local for me:)

David kinda sounds liek the lead singer of Big Wreck. David got even more props in my book for this one - I LOVE Big Wreck! (I'm a big fan of Thornley too, ex BW singer Ian Thornley's new group.) I agree on the band being his style, and I think I might keel over if he brought out a banjo and cranked "Ladylike" though I think TPTB would croak when he went into the oral sex related verse! But "That Song" or "The Oaf (My Luck is Wasted)" would be just as good. If the contestants weren't chained to theme weeks, I'd put in a call to a friend that knows Ian and see if he'd be able to talk to him about clearing a BW song for David to sing....

That would be awsome if David could do a Big Wreck song and get the clearance for it! But I don't see any theme possibly fitting that David could try to squeeze a BW song in, like you said, which sucks.
