lobster jello molds are kinda common on ebay and cheap - the one in the pic - not the one linked to is only $9.95

It really does look a little like a cock 'n' balls.

My great-aunt had a bunch of those molds, including one that looked like a fish. She made this really horrific aspic in it. All of us kids were scared of it.

What the hell is an aspic?
And no, I know what an ass pick is. |

You can make a lobster spread for crackers in one of those things. I have one shaped like a shrimp that I use for shrimp spread, made with fresh Gulf shrimp.
Tasty.

People who create food to be formed into any particular shape other than basic geometric ones should be cremated, mixed with cement, and formed into busts of
their own heads.
Actually, that's a spectacular idea. I'm so going to put that in my will. |

Nope, never made shake 'n bake, commercial product, or home made. The shrimp spread recipe is from my mother.

aspic is either a meat or tomato based jelly/jello type thing and it's usually pretty nasty but was considered a classy thing to serve in the 50s and 60s

Does anybody still make jello molds? My mother used to have a couple hanging on the wall in the kitchen - but I think every mom in the 50s and 60s did.
My grandmother had a set of fighting roosters on her kitchen wall. They always looked very mean to me. I would have said "cocks fighting on the wall" but I'm in no mood for 8th grade humor right now. |

This thread reminds me of a bit that was done on a t.v. show called "skiddlebits" that I used to watch.
They would show an extreme close up picture of an everyday household object and kids would phone in and try to identify what that object was! Hey, that would make an awesome game thread! Somebody should start that thread ASAP! In keeping with the discourse of this thread I would like to say that I sure do miss Carrol O'Conner. Is Jean stapleton dead too? Funny, but I don't miss her that much. |
