It has nothing to do with immaturity/mactor-ness. There's such a high proportion of people in their 20s compared to any other age group that that group is bound to have the most duds and most unlikable people. With only a handful of 45+ year-olds in the past few seasons, they stand out more and it's easier to root for them. There are just as many (probably more actually) people who root for the young contestants but since there are so many of them, the fans of 20something Person A and 20something Person B, etc. effectively cancel each other out.

It's hardly a rule that older people > younger people though; anyone in Micronesia besides Joel > Chet.

I agree. I myself was somewhat put off by the overwhelming number of 20 somethings during Chinas merge(though that probably has to do with the contestents thmselves. I like Todd/Courtney/PeihGee,etc, but their far from my favorites). But from what I've experianced here,there is a genuine hatred of younger astaways. Not suks type hatred,genuine hatred,and its irrational and stupid
