Oh, and the reason why this video is "sick" is because its a cultural issue. Like someone upthread said, dog is considered a delicacy in many Asian countries, while animals which Western society has deemed as food is considered holy and sacred. In Western culture, dogs (and by extension pets) are considered companions, not food. In American society in particular, it can be argued, dogs are considered to be additional members of the family, so for many, killing a dog, much less a puppy, so inhumanely is considered a grievous crime to which some people, rationally or not, equate to killing a human.

It's a matter of context, and considering that the GI is an American, it is assumed that he would have known that what he was doing was considered at least culturally unethical and unacceptable. It's sort of like the dolphin/whale issue in Japan and whether or not other countries should penalize Japan for killing what it considers food and others consider a "cute animal."

Ah, thank you for the correction, squash. I knew better than to call him a Navy man, though, considering they HATE being referred to as a part of the Navy.
