I'm guessing that he & the wife were expecting Walt jr. and couldn't afford to risk starting a company and not getting a regular paycheck and
health insurance for the baby

Next episode looks fantastic! Dare I say, Walt looks sexy with the bald head?
And kitten, fabulous thread title change idea. I think I'll steal that from you. Thanks |

I loved the flash forward at the beginning where it looked as if Walt would end up a bald junkie....then it turns the whole scenario right on it's head at
the end.
Aaron Paul gets all the best lines ..."You're the one that looks like you just crawled out of a microwave, so you tell me" lol. can't belive Season 1 is over already next week. |

wtf? I finally get around to watching ALL of the episodes since I'm sick in bed and I find out that next week is the season finale? That blows.
Does anyone know how this is doing in the ratings and if this has a chance of being picked up next season??? |

My guess is it will get picked up for a second season, although AMC hasn't announced anything yet.
Ratings are in the same ballpark as Mad Men, I think, and that show was renewed for a second season. |

Do you think that this murderer watched Breaking Bad? She bought muriatic acid, not hydrofluoric acid, but it sounds a little too close for comfort.

cable rating numbers are so weird because a show is usually offered multiple time a week, and in marathons (my god look at "project runway" where
it seems every ep is shown every day on bravo) which are not counted. and they currently have no clue how to count "on demand" numbers. * i read an
article in the baltimore sun that stated the ratings for "the wire" this season were averaging 700,000 viewers. but that's just nielsen sunday
numbers. no "during the week" numbers. no "on demand" numbers. hell, visit any "wire" discussion thread and there are 10
sunday viewers for every 100 "on demand" viewers. i know us thread fans are freaks, but who knows what the cable numbers really are.*
amc seems to want to get into the business to original programming. extra cool, since their first too shots were "mad men" and "breaking
bad".
if this show was on hbo its future might be in jeopardy, but i'm with probstie as to a second season, my sofa eight-ball says: "as i see it, yes..." oh, and rei181... i can't even click on that link. i don't want to know... |

Thanks for the rating info. I sure hope it does get picked up. All I know is that I was sick in bed and watched all 6 episodes in one day and was crushed when the "next week on the season finale" was played before the previews. I really like this show. It has a "shield" feel to it, and I LOVE the Shield. |

Bryan Cranston will most definitely get some award nom's. I love this show, it takes the best elements of some of my other faves and mixes them together,
much like he does when he cooks the meth.
He became a badass the minute he shaved his head. |

He became a badass the minute he shaved his head. heh. that was so funny. in the beginning of this ep walter was all, i am the chemist you are the dealer. and then through the chemo walter becomes sick and jesse has to finish the cook. then jesse tries to do the dealer deal and gets his ass kicked. then walter shaves his head and gets the deal done. a perfect 180° that's why i love this show... |

great show.
If it does get picked up wouldn't they have to slow down the time sequence? D.E.A. bro in law is perfect. I know leo's that act just like that. kind of nerdy yet wanting to be cool so badly. i guess the dude has a certain f/x cop show on dvd and when hes not sitting outside the motel watches it on loop. |

Season finale bumpage.
Damn, tonight is a good night for TV. The season finale of Breaking Bad and the series finale of The Wire. It doesn't get much better than that. |

Great finale! Even though it wasn't supposed to be the season finale.
I can't believe the season is over already. I want more! |

at the end.
"heisenberg sez relax..." and the way tuco went off on hector tonight is exactly the way i felt... [and i'm paraphrasing here] tuco: "are you saying i only get 10 eps of the wire and now only 7 eps of breaking bad? and its done?" and then he beats hector to a pulp... maybe it wasn't the blue meth. maybe tuco was just a fan of my two favorite shows and felt the same way i did tonight. poor hector, poor me... |

That had writer's strike written all over the ending.
Just enough for vague resolution but seemingly cobbled together. You had to know the second told Juco to relzx, it'd only make things worse. WTF with the shoplifting subplot? Maybe the sister in law is dipping into the meth all of a sudden? That'd be fun. I'll definitely be waiting for this thing to return -- and I have no doubt that it will. |
