While I was underimpressed by Rami, even without the extensions, they still would have given it to Rami because Chris just isn't a "serious"
enough designer. I thought the paperclip thing was genius!
Either way, I can't be disappointed. Chris didn't stand a snowball's chance of winning, and so the fact that he got to show at Bryant Park is a victory in of itself |

Mister Yuck wrote: Less his first aufing I think and more the fact that Chris is a costume designer. Designers with costume
backgrounds are to Project Runway as plus-sized models are to America's Next Top Model. They bring them on each season, but you always get the impression
that the judges don't take them seriously and they're never serious contenders for the win. IMHO, I'm with the camp that says Chris got the pass to
the last round based on the guest judge, and not particularly because the judges wanted him there.

Chris's' designs looked great on the models, were innovative and well executed--more than you can say about any of Rami's three designs. The human
hair seemed to throw them, but with all the hair extension's that abound these days what was so creepy about the hair on the clothes--women put it on their
heads and no one thinks anything about it, but on clothes somehow they feel it's creepy--it seems a lot creepier to be sticking someone elses hair on your
head...
I think Chris is the new Bob Mackie--over the top perhaps, maybe not for everyone, but beautiful, distinct, and well crafted clothes I think the judges blew this decision big time, but what else is new.... |

Why did they even bother pretending on the show that Chris didn't get to show at fashion week? Everybody knows he did and SweetPea did too.

Man, I was so afraid to come here after the show because I was SURE that I would be the only person who thought that Chris' collection was way better.
Glad to see that I'm not alone. Rami - Loved the two short dresses. HATED the coat. HATED the evening gown. Plus, I didn't see the "cohesiveness" in his collection. At this point, I absolutely hate that word, but if the judges really think about that, well I just don't see where the cohesiveness is in Rami's collection. Chris - Loved all three looks. I loved that he did the short, the longer and the super long evening gown. I won't lie; when he told Tim that he was using human hair, I was like, EEEWWWWWWW!!!!! After I saw the looks walk down the runway, though, I said OK...I get it. It looks really, really cool. His outfits were nicely tailored and looked gorgeous. And honestly I would much rather wear human hair, where there is no cruelty involved, than fur...where an animal is killed just for its fur. But maybe I'm in the minority where this is concerned. The one criticism I have with Chris' collection is that he should have put a slit in the evening gown, so that she could walk better in it. It was way too tight at the bottom, and she had trouble walking. Otherwise, I loved it all. I think Rami only won because he didn't do Drapefest '08, Act II. The judges all of the sudden acted like he was the Second Coming, just because he didn't drape everything this time. Whatever. Assholes. Ugh, and did I mention that the blue coat was hideous? I thought I was going to die of barfness.

I am still in shock that they chose Rami over Chris. I was just amazed at the originality of Chris' work. But since this is PR, they went for the
"commercial" appeal of Rami.... hell Kors said it himself. I was just happy that they didn't leave us hanging as to who would be "in"
for the 3rd slot. I am really looking forward to next week and feel it will be Christian for the win.

The human hair seemed to throw them as did "spit marks" earlier this season. do not bring fluids or other human parts into the fashion equation. this does not compute with "top american designer michael kors" or "the lovely nina garcia, fashion director of elle magazine". ya dig? |

(ok, I really need to stop already with the Christian-isms) Oh, and BAD KITTY? I have been totally in love with the kitty in your avi (Albert, I assume?) for ages. He looks exactly like my sweet JD (RIP). He was SO naughty when he was a baby, but turned out to be the BEST cat ever and I miss him something awful. *somuchlove* |

Kenscookie wrote: NO, I completely agree with you on this. It's all a matter of what sort of perversion you're accustomed to. It grosses me out that people can walk around with fur anything (and even leather to a degree) --- it's just so weird and gives me the heebie jeebies when I think about where it came from... but if someone is comfortable with that then I think they really shouldn't have a problem with human hair! I'm tired of all these precludes to the finale - roll on the FINALE, dammit, I need to see a winner! |

Kenscookie wrote:That blue coat was a tranny mess. Even though I had thought after Fashion Week that the third spot would go to Rami (especially if he showed the judges the gold gown. Wonder why he didn't choose that for tonight. We didn't even see it in the studio, did we? Likewise Chris' blue dress with the face screened on it, that Bianca wore.), I seriously cried when Chris was auf'ed. The human hair looks so much better moving than in still pictures; even moreso than in the videos we had previously seen. And that safety-pin skirt was effin' GENIUS. (And how great was it to hear Tim Gunn say, "Effin'"?) I'm watching it again (third time), and seeing that that first dress of his walking towards us still makes me go, "Wow." Didn't Christian have any friends who wanted to go to dinner with Tim? I like Rami's short dress less 'live' than in photos. The evening gown was a'ight, I guess, and I can't help but duplicate the hatred for the blue coat. Tim told him that his gold coat looked heavy, like it was made out of chainmail, so what does he do? Changed it to blue. Not a fan of the matching headbands his models wore, either. And the photo of Rami's mother looked like...Rami in a wig. Who thinks that if Chris had shown the blue dress instead of the tight gown Marcia wore, he might have gotten in? "You're in a velvet condom." Heidi's bangs are irking the piss out of me. I hate it when bangs are so long, that they get caught in eyelashes and move every time you blink. How does $8,000 and five months to do the collection compare to what they've gotten in previous seasons? |

Four more things:
Tim Gunn looks great in a leather jacket. So nice to see something other than the pinstripe suit. "You've been living in the monkey house!" Lovedlovedloved the eppy ending with Chris' signature laugh. Can we talk about that hat Jillian was wearing? For someone who has previously said, "I feel self-conscious enough as it is," to be seen in that tranny mess...

How interesting -- Rami mentioned he was born in the city of Jerusalem. This I did not know...
How do you wash Chris' clothes -- With Prell? I agree with Cousin O -- the Gillian hat makes me seriously question her fashion taste. |

The hair for lack of a better term started to grow on me. I think it was obvious that Rami was the chosen one though. They wanted to get rid of Chris last
episode, but the guest judge ranked him the highest so they couldn't. They knew he would be making a decoy collection anyway, so they pretended to have
another show. This just worries me that they're gonna try to give it to Rami.

I call foul!!! If Rami thought that blue coat was one of his strongest looks, then
Who thinks that, after the judges comments last night about how both Chris and Rami went "so dark", that it's foreshadowing a Jillian win? Hope not, cause Christian is fabulous, darlings!!
