1. David Hernandez -- Didn't know he had it in him
2. David Archuleta -- very polarizing contestant. Can't be denied that the kid's got chops though. 3. Chikezie -- Shocked at how good he was tonight. 4. David Cook -- too bad the Rock Star series isn't still around, he'd be better suited for it. That 'face for radio' will probably work against him though. I thought Simon was being silly in criticizing him about the "word nerd" thing. As if Carrico's race car driving made him not boring... 5. Danny Noriega -- started out horrible, but he pulled it together in the end. There were several drag queen gestures in that performance. I'll be interested to see how long he sticks around. 6. Michael Johns -- not terrible, but not good either. 7. Luke Menard -- Killer Queen is one of Queen's campiest songs and he didn't seem to get that. I'll give him props for keeping up with the tricky lyrics though. 3 way tie for 10: Jason Yeager -- I felt badly for him (I thought he was going to cry and I just wanted Ryan to shut up), but that was just bad. Jason Castro -- guy couldn't hold onto a note with a handle. Awful. Robbie Carrico -- hilarious. B: Yeager and Cook H: Carrico and Castro G: Yeager and Cook |

1.David A.-he is the best no doubt, whether he is pimped or not, i dont care, i can be my own judge if he can sing or not and he definatly can.
2.David H.-i knew he was good when he sang that song during Hollywood week, i'm glad he did that. 3.David C. 4.Luke-i cant believe i liked him but that song was perfect for him and he did a good job. 5.Michael-man american idol made this guy think he is the shit, he thinks he is better than he actually is-not great but f12 worthy. 6.Danny-was pretty good, i like the song. 7.Robbie-he was good, but all i could think was this dude needs some freakin shampoo, conditioner AND a brush, he should probably just get his haircut. 8.Jason C.-ehh 9.Jason Y.-it wasnt as bad as they said but i just like the song(because it's one of the few i atually knew) 10.Chickeze-i didnt get it at all, i concentrated on him spitting and then i wondered what the hell was on his wrist, and then i thought about how is hair looked funny, and then i was trying to listen to the song but i didnt like it. so it was just not good for me. brain: jason y and luke hear.t: chickeze and robbie gut: jason y and danny |

The girls are way better this season.
The standouts: 1. David Archuleta -- very charismatic and talented; the heavy pimping could hurt him in future weeks though 2. David Hernandez -- a much better performance to go along with the great singing ability The also good: 3. Jason Yeager -- I thought he sounded great and did an excellent job showing more personality with what admittedly was a vocally unchallenging song; if it was based on effort, this guy would win for trying so hard; Simon was unfairly hard on him 4. David Cook -- really good job, but Simon's right - he's got no charisma; he'd be great in a band but not so much as the lead 5. Danny Noriega -- he was entertaining and is a good singer but the high camp can't be winning him lots of votes And the rest, any of which could go Thursday and I wouldn't care... 6. Chikezie Eze -- can't believe he was this good; probably more a reflection of how bad the rest were 7. Michael Johns -- very blah; suddenly he looks like a one-trick pony 8. Luke Menard -- better than last week but he's just so full of himself it's really off-putting; Dawson rock is so 1990. 9. Jason Castro -- wow; from so good last week to such a train wreck 10. Robbie Carrico -- TIRED. Even Britney would be embarassed. B: Jason Castro, Robbie Carrico H: Robbie Carrico , Luke Menard, Chikezie (this is the one time a three-way tie would rock) G: Jason Castro, Robbie Carrico

David H (Temptations - Papa was a rolling stone) Very good job. Good arrangement. I actually thought the worst part was the end shout/note. I hate glory notes
in that kind of song. Still the best of the night.
Chikeze (Donnie Hathaway - ) He looked so much like Gary Coleman today, it was downright distracting. But it was a very strong performance. Top 3 of the night. David C (All Right Now) Rob's horrible rock performance really made this guy sound great in comparison...Good vocal and performance. I agree the film didn't help him. Not lots of charisma. Boring. David A (John Lennon - Imagine) I still don't "get" this guy... I don't "get" all the love for him. I just hear "OK". I don't hear "great"... I HATE his lower register. It sounds like he's TALKING through his NOSE, in his lower register, not singing. Is it just me? Tell me I'm not going crazy. I prefered his "And I'm not telling you I'm not going..." even if it was off-key. The higher part of his voice is alright, but ugh on the bottom half. -gap Danny - (Carpenters - Superstar) Hahah... when he opened up in the exaggerated breathy voice... I could just picture him doing this in DRAG, fishnets, heels, falsies, fake lashes... I agree with the judges. He is trying too hard, but he's really got a good voice on him, and he's a very likeable guy. He's going to be a drag queen someday. Michael - (Fleetwood Mac - Go your own way) That song is outside of his wheelbox on that song. He's charismatic though, and he's got a strong voice. Missed notes on the chorus. I agree he was a bit flat, then slid up to the note. Jason C - (Andy Gibb - I just want to be your everything) Was not the greatest vocal, but it was relaxed performance, and I love this song actually. I've yet to figure out if Jason has a great singer inside of him. Yeah, the backup singers drowned him out on the chorus (but hey, it's understandable given one of the singers is a daughter of Donnie Hathaway) -gap Jason Y (Doobies - Without Love) Decent looking guy. Decent voice. No charisma. Boring song. Terrible dancing. Frat boy jock singing karaoke. Robbie (Foreigner - Hotblooded) Voice is simply too thin to sing Foreigner. He's at least 2 levels below where he needs to be. Yes, this performance was the DEFINITION of Karaoke. This is exactly what an above average episode of "DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS" sounded like. It was better than last week, I guess... I guess he sort of looks the part of the rocker. Orlando Bloom (Queen - Killer Queen) His falsetto is nasal and squeezed. That song sounded awful. Good falsetto sounds relaxed and effortless. This really really reminded me of one of those college glee clubs performances with the sub-par lead singer. Being able to sing a note on pitch doesn't mean that it sounds great. Brain - Jason Y, Robbie, Orlando Heart - Jason Y, Robbie, Orlando Gut - Jason Y, Robbie, Orlando... er Luke Menard. edited because I forgot they're dumping 2 on thursday, not just 1.

Jason C. - Judges were CRAZY!! He sounded fine and I love the guitar. Song choice did suck though. 6. Chikeze - It was good, but I still don't see him going far. 7. Michael - Forgettable. Didn't like the song either. 8. Robbie - Meh. 9. Jason Y. - Weird ending. Bad performance 10. Luke - YOU CAN'T SING!!!! --- Please send this fool home!!! BOTTOM 2: Luke & Jason Y. Killer Queen is one of Queen's campiest songs and he didn't seem to get that.He didn't do anything fun with it or even try to make it his own, or do anything else so that he wouldn't pale in comparison to Freddie. This is how you do Killer Queen without looking like an idiot imo: |

1.David A.--hate to rank him 1 because he's so getting the chosen one push, but you can't deny he was good tonight, but I think he's suspectible to
getting cocky and arrogant further down the road.

1. David Hernandez (The first performance of the season that actually made me think we could have a winner)
2. David Cook (A legit rock performance, he lost points by backtalking Simon but still as a singer, he should be in the Top 12 easily) 3. Danny Noriega (Much better than last week, I actually really liked this.) 4. Luke Menard (He reminds me of a much less vocally controlled version of Shane Wiebe from CI2. I really like him and this was an admirable attempt of a damn challenging song.) 5. David Archuleta (As much as I hate him for trying to do that to "Imagine", I cant deny that the vocals were at least good.) 6. Jason Castro (Not as great as last week, he's getting old very fast.) 7. Michael Johns (He had the right sounding voice but this was a very bad vocal) 8. Chikezie (Annoying and his voice was awful in the high notes despite being strong in the low) 9. Jason Yeager (I wanted to like him but this was so cheesy) 10. Robbie Carrico (No energy and yeah I think he's fake) B: Yeager/Luke H: Carrico/Yeager G: Yeager/Chikezie |

Well David took it this week for sure.
my take: 1. D Arch... His performance of the song 3 years ago is great too. But kind of takes the 'magic' off of this performance, knowing he has performed this song for as long as 3 years. 2. D Hern .. he is my underdog fav to go far, and he did an inspiring version of this song..loved it! 3. D Cook--- Robbie, see David for definition of an authentic rocker. 4. Danny N. -- I hope he doesn't get overlooked, he has great sound and want to see his personality come out in the weeks to come. 5. Michael-- the mighty has fallen this week, not because it was bad, LOVED Fleetwood Mac, but others did better. the rest were meh: 6. Jason- I liked his version of Bee Gees 7. Chickeze-not my thing 8. Jason Yeager- poor guy was chokin back the t e a r s if he would cut the fake drama in his smile and movement and just sing he has a great voice 9. Luke- KILLER QUEEN??--- this queen killed that song, and not in a good way...die die die you Orlando Bloom musical clone 10. Robbie-- dude, fast cars do not make a rocker. Someone doing crosswords showed more balls than you will ever hope to have singing. B/G -- any 2 of Jason Yeager/Luke/Robbie but Heart that Chickeze goes
