Springchicken don't know shit. | ||
|
I wasn't going to post here because I really just like watching everyone squirm along with me but I had to help you guys out and alieviate some tension.
Springchicken is full of shit. I went to semis in Austin and yes interviewed with Scott and yes, was asked to make my video and can 100% guarantee that
callbacks aren't over. OMG people....I ususally post at another site that is less deceitful than SUX and you are falling for this load of crap? You are
at SUX people!!! It isn't true and this dork doesn't know what he is talking about...TRUST ME!!!

I really hope that Scoot and notaspringchicken are right. For what it's worth, my interview was actually AT MysticArt, and it's this teeny tiny 4- or
5-room place with just about 3 staffers (plus one or two contracted casting helpers who sound like they did was Laina does). I cannot in a million years
imagine them receiving and handling 60-page faxes from a bunch of people. That did seem kind of weird to me. Even if ALL the casting folks came back to Burbank
to help, I doubt this place has the capacity to receive bunches of big faxes. I'm talking TINY. However, they certainly could have sent the packages out by
email, which would enable people to FedEx them the next day (assuming that you could fill out all that stuff in a day). But still, it does smell a little
funny, no?

People do lie A LOT when it comes to this stuff. I've pretty much given up hope even if it does sound funny. I would have thought sending in a video
within 72 hours sounded funny if I didn't have to do it myself. But yea I guess we can all wait it out a week either way. To fax that all within a day is
a little absurd.

Maybe they are doing it in "waves"... groupings of cities...anyone remember the line up?
Burbank had to be first right? |

The molecasting site indicates that Open Calls were held on Feb 2nd in Nashville, Chicago and NYC; then San Diego on the 9th; and L.A., Austin and Philly on the 10th. Of course, the whole casting approach for this show has proved very untraditional, so who knows what they're doing. It just seems very unlikely that they'd bother processing only a portion of the finalists and then wait through the weekend to do the rest. Ultimately, the producers will want the entire pool of eligibles before them in the same location so that they can meet them, make notes and comparisons, and then do final selections.

Guys, we have one person who is saying they got a call. Unless someone else can confirm, take it with a grain of salt. He may be telling the truth, and I
know from past experience that MysticArt does send paperwork via e mail and ask for faxes back, but not within 24 hours of a deadline. That is possible, but
saying as they put the deadline off by a few days, I wouldnt give up hope until we hear from another reliable source or two, or next Friday. Then I would give
up hope...but keep your heads up, it still may come!

hmm. This is all very interesting. I would assume they made all the calls at the same time, but you never know!
SC good luck and you better get on, and you better come post all about it when you're back :) |

Oh So Intresting | ||
|
I have also been reading these posts for the last few days. Its funny how everyone seems to give out more and more information when they think the chips are
down. Keep your chin up guys, who knows whats going on? The only information that we really have is if that phone rings or not.
I did want to point out a few things, since I have been reading on here. I interviewed too. Did the "email the casting producer thing" got the generic "oh come to the open castings call... yada yada yada. I made it all the way to the same spot everyone else has seemed to be left in, had to send in a video tape after my one-on-one with the (2) casting producers. Who yes, were Laina and Scott... and Scott's last name is not Wissner (or however it was spelled), its a jewish last name... you would have seen it if you were looking closely at the dry marker board that was sitting next to you by your chair. Im really hung up on that though, I hear Scott (the dude in Lainas pics from the blog) was in Nashville (believeable: he was in Philly the week after)... but also in Austin? Not a chance... can't be two places at once. Because he was def in Philly. Thats confirmed. (Austin and Philly open casting on the same day). Also Laina (she told the group that they just got in from Chicago a few days before) went right from Chicago to Philly- if the tapes had to be sent to LA, and then edited with the video that you had done with your one on one, they would have been finishing them up this week.. and then shown to the producers? And then got the call backs done by thursday? And then based on a few posts ago, you have to send in a high res pic of yourself showing full body? How many pics do they need of you? They got your whole body on video (they did that before your interview started) and took a digital pic of you.I It very well could be true they been calling back finalist. Or it may very well not be. Who knows. But you shouldn't get yourself too wrapped up in all of this. Its a tv show, you will make yourself go crazy running off of here-say. I wish you all the best of luck if you go This was just a general topic, not bitter... but if everyone else will post what they think... i will too... Good luck |

Boastful Motives | ||
|
Worrying & Waiting while hopeful next week...not so much suffering...if ya still think you have a chance.
Knowing you were passed up all of next week...that's suffering. I don't think anyone's really questioning your call...as much as your motives for telling about your call! |

shit, people are posting faster than I can respond.. this is in response to SC:
I wouldn't worry about it- I don't think people are TRYING to be mean it is just sort of coming out like that. If I was waiting i'd probably not want to believe calls went out, either |

I've said it before: denial can be a powerful thing.
Don't feel slighted SC ... we're all just jealous and trying to process rejection the best we can! |
