craig, it'll be interesting to see how she gets on with Jonathan, who is also a smart and strong-willed leader. If they can connect and work together, it would be a very strong alliance.

I agree that Ami would ideally prefer a women's alliance. But she also had that interesting scene where she talks about getting burned by trusting the women to stick together. She seemed to be saying she wasn't so gung-ho about trying the same thing.

Parvati seems to be gravitating to the same no-parent tribe that was so disastrous the last time. If Cirie were to join them, she is certainly no leader. But, Cirie was good at keeping her Final Six calmed down and thinking straight during Exile Island.

The children ask Tracy for help building their shelter, after shunning the elderly contingent. Heh heh. Looking forward to how the fan family finally shakes out.

Yau-Man, when he voted, "told" Jonny that he'd be happy to show him how to raise happy well-adjusted children if he'd like.

But, Jonathan and Cirie seem the best M&F team on Malakal. Yau-Man seems always destined to be the Eccentric.

We have two men, Joel and MikeyB, fighting for control of the fan tribe. Neither seem to have any use for the older players. They both talk like they'll take the ("useless") oldsters out any time, but in reality they are locked in a battle with each other. The oldsters, could be more strategically useful than either think. Competing Brothers for role of Father?

Chet was shown comforting and trying to warm up a shivering Alexis. This is the sort of thing a non-threatening, non-competitive Eccentric is strong in. If he has sense to reach outside of the geriatric minority, he may find a (family) alliance.

Cirie seems to have made a strong F-3 with Amanda and Parvati. Hm. This should be interesting to see if a Mother and two Daughters can be a stronger bond than the two sex (oh, excuse me, lo-ove) interests.

An where is Ami in all this? Mother?, (older) Daughter?, Eccentric?

birdlady, I agree about Tracy as Mother. But I see Kathy as strictly an Eccentric. I think Eric even called her a clown this ep.

Kathy and Chet both have Eccentric roles in that they are both non-competitive and are followers. I've always seen "non-threatening" as a necessary trait to make a successful Eccentric. Big Tom has always been my ideal as a successful Eccentric.

Chet seems to have given up, so his success is questionable to me. But Kathy, though not fitting in as a Sister, seems a good choice for sticking around as the harmless, uncomplaining bottom rung of an alliance. Eric guessed correctly that she wouldn't even look for the idol.

Yau-Man was a successful Eccentric on Fiji, but this time his success made him a threat to Cirie. Or possibly his reputation as being loyal to his alliance (in this case, Jonathan), made her sure that she could never break into Jonathan's alliance.

Eccentrics are kept for their loyalty, but are also disposed of when the F-4 has been achieved. Earl hit the jackpot when the highly popular (and probably the winner) Yau-Man was bounced without his having to get his hands bloody.

Tracy offered Kathy, Chet and herself to Joel as useful pawns for his game. Joel thinks they are all going to be loyal and disposable, which is probably the case with Eccentrics Kathy and Chet. But Mama Tracy is another thing altogether. She'll offer motherly "advice", but the mothers of the animal kingdom also have teeth and claws. ;-)
