Using the veto is huge. That's broadcasting to the entire house that you've cut a deal with the enemy. It's totally plausible to believe that the house would get pissed off enough to do the exact opposite of what J/C want. Especially if Matt/Nat cut some deals, offer safety, and let everyone know that J/C are their targets. Seriously, ask Kaysar and Janelle how well that "keep the targets in the house" strategy works. The house just gets pissed at you and forgets about the target. That said, J/C seem to talk a big game, but then make the safe, predictable move, so I can't imagine them actually going through with this.
