People are born gay or straight, the don't just magically "become gay" because they don't have a father...

I just wrote ABC telling them that cow Sherri needs to go. I just typed in abc.com, select The View from "Daytime" menu, and click on "Ask the View". as you've said so many times...I am entitled to my own opinion... and mine is that you're one fuuuucked up dudeOk Fine.....but just dont hate on people for their opinions. I think its fucked up that you wont watch a show becuase one person in the panel 'hurt your feelings' but you can do just that. Just dont say that its wrong or that I am wrong. People are born gay or straight, the don't just magically "become gay" because they don't have a father...Again I have nothing against gays but I just said in my opinion most gay people I know have some kind of "Ohhhh I see why" in their past. where as I have known straight people who were raised by gays as well as single female parents raising gays. I am just saying that it is possible in some kind of "I love my parents and want to please them" way. Just like on the Rosies Cruise video how there was one girls who was bummed because she was not gay like her gay mother. |

People don't become gay by being around other gay people!

As for Sherry, I don't find her ignorance cute and funny as her cohosts often do. She was a bad hire, admitting she doesn't have her own view (i.e. saying she had to ask her husband how to vote in past elections and this would be the first time she voted on her own. But as they say "ignorance is bliss" so I think Sherry is probably the happiest person on this planet.

OMGAH! I can't believe JJ's comments are serious! It is hilarious! Sometimes you have to slap somebody hard in the head for their opinions if they are
WRONG. If someone's opinion says it is okay to kill someone, then that person needs to be dealt with and corrected.
JJ, you can't have a personal experience on gay issues unless you are gay yourself! So your experience mean NOTHING. I am gay but BOTH my parents surrounded me with the straight people growing up, watched TV as a kid where there were no gay character on any shows, and I turned out gay. |

lol the guy who plays Locke on Lost was on today and he started talking about when people get really religious they can be very dangerous and while talking, he
started looking at Sherri/Liz. He then took a pause and Joy said 'geez stop looking at Sherri while you're saying that'. Nothing exciting but I
thought it was hilarious lol.

Let me just get this out there.
I dont think that being around gay people will 100% make your wants and needs change to that of a gay persons in a literal sense. I am just saying that to some people, obviously sherri, and to a certain EXTENT (Like 1/1000 of what Sherri believes) me, believe that it is possible. (for me a possibility) Dont hate on my opinion unless you interview every gay person and take dna/chemical tests from all of them to prove me wrong. I was just speaking from personal experience which I cant make excuses for. So shoot me that in my life most gay people I have known had some kind of "reason" for being gay. I also know straight guys that watch AI and Project Runway. Its a weird crazy world, I except your lives and lifestyles and where you came from so except mine. It doesn't make me an idiot or you guys smart. Show me 100% certain documentation that says that you cant acquire homosexuality by being surrounded by it as an example of life and I will except it....and I am not even saying that it is possible so much as people believe it and I dont think they are wrong in their ideas and OPINIONS. Until then I believe there is the possibility that your surroundings can influence you, even if its just a little bit, which is what I am getting at. I am sorry if it is offensive but it's an offensive topic that Sherri started that has us talking days later so I think THE VIEW achieved what it wanted to. I'm sorry I even brought it up but its a losing argument on both sides. I'm more on the Gay side of the argument in that I do think its stupid that Sherri thinks you can catch it like a disease apparently. |

Anybody that chooses to be a gay is real fuckhead, and gives a lot of those hardcore Christian's the ability to promote their hate.

WOW...this place has been busy since I asked how to contact The View. Thanks for the person who directed me to the abc.com website. I filled in the form to ask
a question. Here is what I wrote:
I just want to know if Sherri Shepard is going to be allowed to make homophobic comments (see Monday's show about penguins) and go unchallenged by the other panelists? She has a narrow-minded view and I understand the show is about different views, but she should not be allowed to sit there and make her narrow-minded views without anyone chiming in with their views. It's not enough for Joy to be silent, or for Whoopi to stare at her in disbelief. It's time to speak up, ladies. I will not continue to watch if her homophobia goes unchecked in the future. Thank you. I do not expect a reply but if I get one I'll let you know. |

JerseyJerk wrote: JJ, with the gay people you've mentioned, did they specifically say they believed they're gay for those reason you said, or are you just saying that
on what you gathered? Like I said before, being around only women in your life or around gay people won't make you gay, but might make you somewhat more
comfortable with the notion. As many of us have said (myself included), we weren't exposed to many gay people growing up, yet are gay. And, the opposite
is there too. I could see something like a young boy being raised by two gay parents maybe trying something with another boy because he saw his parents do it.
But, that doesn't mean he's gay (the say way little gay boys may have done something with girls growing up). That's a way I could see
surroundings influencing, but I'm just not one to believe that it's impacted by surroundings.

I'll probably regret chiming in here, but I can't help myself.
I tend to believe the gestational neurohormonal theory of human sexual orientation as the most likely cause. It deals with the genesis of heterosexuality as well as homosexuality and can explain how people fall in different places along the Kinsey scale. The theory proposes that sexual orientation is primarily determined by the degree to which the nervous system is exposed to testosterone, estradiol, and to other sex hormones while neuro-organization is taking place, predominantly between the middle of the second and the end of the fifth month of gestation. According to this theory, "complex combinations of genetic, hormonal, neurological, and environmental factors operating prior to birth largely determine what an individual's (adult) sexual orientation will be." On the other hand, scientists have also found a gene in fruit flies (the insects, not the f.ag hags) that acts as a switch between hetero and shagging anything that moves bisexuals. |

Look I just dont want to be called a "**! Hater" or "Gay Basher" or whatever shitty thing people might put on me. No where am I saying that
I have anything against the lifestyle....

It is all from my perception that I feel that being around gay people had an influence on them. Everyone one around one person I know will say "You know he's gay right" "Well no shit look how where he grew up" (Referring to one man I work with who grew up with a gay brother 10 years his senior in his household). idk it does sound stupid but I am just saying it is possible just like it is possible for any of you gay guys/girls out their to one day find someone of the opposite sex and fall in love with them. I'm not saying its usual, its just definitely a possibility. Thank you though, pj, for letting this become a real conversation and not just the argument is has become |

Elisabeth is being quite the pouty bitch today. You can tell she's frustrated with Joy, but she's acting like a two year old. She snapped at Whoopi
for interrupting her when Whoopi didn't say a word and then when Whoopi let her go ahead, she pouted and refused. Annnnnnnnnd to top it all off, Nanny
Barbara is there.

Sherri is making a good case today for turning people gay (or at least influencing them at a young age). If I had some crazy, stupid woman shaking her big
ol' titties in my face when I was 2, that right there may have been enough.
And, yes, people, I'm joking . . . not about the Sherri being fucked up part. |
