This is Puyehue National Park, with Lago Puyehue and the Puyehue Volcano in the background:

Also, did not mean to say Peru, I meant to say Chile. That is where Puyehue National Park is located.

I like it! The vegetation is very different from what we've seen on Survivor in the past, and I can't have a North American season, it seems close
enough. I don't know if "Survivor: Chile" would sound exotic enough to sell, though.

I think we are trying too hard to think about locations... I am pretty sure the next location has to be a big, well known country... Jeff Probst did say they
were thinkging of some "big locations"... so I think the ONE would be from the following: 1. India 2. Canada 3. Africa 4. New Zealand (although
isn't it winter during July, Aguust?) I am sorry, but i think we have to rule out Madagascar....

Madagascar is pretty well known (maybe except to tards like yourself), there was a major motion picture with that title. There will never be a Survivor
Canada.

I was about to say that about Madagascar as well... but the thing is that only immature teenage brats as urself might have seen that movie 20 times... an
average viewer would think that Madagascar is something like Fiji and Vanuatu

Well, most people have heard of Fiji and Madagascar. They just kind of exist in the back of social consciousness as stereotypical tropical islands. Simply
the name "Madagascar" evokes images of the exotic in most people's minds, which is why it was such a good title for that movie. It's not
like people didn't know where Madagascar was before that film came out. Places like Cook Islands and Vanuatu, on the other hand, are not as well known by
their names alone.

If they do Madagascar, they absolutely need a lemur on the logo.

Madagascar if not already well-known, will be within the next 10 years due to ecological/industrial conflicts. Survivor would be extremely forward thinking to
decide to work in Madagascar. I'm sold on Chile, those photos are gorgeous and the conifers would be a nice change of scenery.

Chile does look beautiful, and I just remembered where I've seen images of that park before. If anyone's a Discovery Channel nerd, they might
recognize that scenery from the Walking With Dinosaurs special that was done a few years ago. Apparently, those kinds of conifers are among the most
ancient species of tree in the world. If Survivor took place there, fossils could be part of the art direction. But like I said, I'm just not feeling
Survivor: Chile.

I second Survivor Chile, I always thought that would be a great place. They could do anything....there's volcanoes, there's greenery and there's
also islands and beaches and stuff. Chile for S17!

Everyone should know where Madagascar is.. and I didn't even know there was a movie about it. |

They may eventually do a season in Madagascar, but I doubt that's what Jeff was referring to when he was talking about a "Big Location".
I'm thinking probably New Zealand, maybe India. |

If they went to India I get the feeling they'd do something with "reincarnation" and bring back the outcast twist or send the person voted out to
the other tribe, or some crap like that

Would Mongolia be considered big? Probably not but I've always thought it would be neat to have a kind of nomadic themed Survivor where the contestants are
given so many sheep/goats/other livestock and taught basic Survival skills by natives in order to live off the land (for example how to construct a simple yurt
[tent], build a fire pit, basic milking and butchery etc.) before being divided into tribes and forced to fend for themselves in the wilds. Reward challenges
could play into this theme by offering additional training with natives (for example learning about different plants/grasses and their healing properties,
effective management of livestock etc.), visits to nomadic camps and festivals, and the chance to win animal helpers such as horses and camels. There could
even be raids thrown in from time to time. Immunity challenges could involve archery, axe throwing and other weapon based contests, horseback riding and
wrestling. Maybe there could even be a twist come merge where the new tribe has to pack up all their belongings and move themeselves and their livestock to a
completely new environment (for example moving from rolling grasslands to hilly terrain) which is a half a day to a days journey away. The weather would be a
problem of course and there may be protests if animal butchery plays a large part in the series but it would be interesting and unlike what has been seen
before on the show. This theme could also be done in West China, Kazakhstan and a number of other Central Asian countries.
Russia could be considered big (the lake bikal or kamchatka areas have nice scenery from the pictures I've seen). Peru, Nepal and Greenland (with a Norse theme) could possibly fit. The weather would probably be off-putting for all these places though. Greece and Japan would be interesting but obviously unlikely. I guess another season in Africa doesn't sound too bad, plenty of diversity there. |
