Ugh, seeing this reminded me how much I liked Vanessa and how bummed I was she went home while so many other lame asses were still in the top 11. They said she
was "pitchy" but didn't bother to say that to Caldwell or Corey, who both were offkey so often this particular week.
KLo was the worst she ever was and deserved bottom three. Ick. Carmen wasn't as bad as I remember thinking at the time. Julia sounded good, but had horrible stage presence. Trenyce was the shining star for me that week. |

They forced Vanessa to say that "Ryan is a performning monkey and I actually have talent" line and it totally went over wrong

Yeah, I had totally forgotten about the whole performing monkey thing until someone reminded me of that recently. That really ruined her I think. It made her
seem very bitchy and rude. She was just playing around and Ryan said so "after the break" but by then I'm sure a majority of people either tuned
out, or didn't hear it.
She was so much better than so many of them that night. Sigh. |

Carmen really did own this week. It was her only good performance IMO. I hate how she sounds like a dying frog. Carmen <3 Original Country Diva. If marketed properly she could have been huge. Ruben= so fucking overrated. He was my favo back in the day but I am wondering what the fuck I was thinking. |

I didn't see this weeks Rewind yet, but they cut him out? Not that I'm complaining because I would have fast fwd over it anyway, but yeah he didn't
leave until around top 8-9.

yeah, definitely movie night because KLo sang "Home" (she went last) and Charles sang "You Can't Win" and got voted out. |

Corey sang that song that Scott Savol also sang - crappity crap crap I can't remember the name of it. Theme song to something or other. He sucked on it,
but actually sounded about the best he ever had which isn't saying much. I'm glad they cut it. [ETA: Reading back, I see that Seaguy knew - Against

I think Amy was actually Season 3, wasn't she? [I don't know why that [-] thingy wouldn't delete when I copied those posts, but it won't.] I thought this was a pretty good night, over all. I miss the group numbers and Ford commercials, though. It would have been fun to see them again, and skip some of the interview stuff. I don't think anyone actually looks better five years later, except maybe K-Lo. Clay does now, but at the time he was narrating he didn't look so great. Charlie is practically bald, and at such a young age. For being a hairdresser, Julia doesn't seem to have a clue how to make herself look good. Yeah, I'm shallow, but these kids are still very young and I'm kind of shocked at how bad some of them look. Oh, Trenyce is looking good. I wonder why she never got a record deal - she is a really good singer. Is it because she's not original enough? I really wonder.... I mean, even Carmen the goat girl cut an album (which I actually liked the few songs I heard from it, but not enough to buy it). |

A few really good performances, and some clunkers.
Clay was horrible as he croaked and cracked all over the place! And they LOVED it. 
Corey wasn't shown but he was always shitty. Carmen not very good. Julia not very good. Kimberly C not very good. I actually thought Charles was better than all of those above. Josh....good I guess. Meh Ruben sang that one really well. But that outstretched arm and zero charisma...Blah. Best of the night I thought were Rickey (first time I really liked him), Trenyce and KLo, even though she was very breathy at the beginning of the song. Gladys Knight was a really good judge. |
