That's what I was thinking, I was like shouldn't you be at the funeral or with the family, glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought that. I don't think the first thing after a parent dies is to line up for 2 days to audition for a spot on AI. I still like her and her voice, but that was odd overall. She could have flown and auditioned at another city, it's not like she would never get to audition again. |

Horrid singer but sad story. I wish she hadn't brought it up in judging though. It kinda made me less compassionate since I felt she was using her
father's death to ge to the next round.
Still, I hope she works through this. Must be hard. |

Her cousin Shunta was suppposed to bring the ashes to the audition, but the dumb bitch got on the wrong bus. My first impression of her was through her singing. Interesting voice, but weird diction. Okay voice, but doesn't have enough power. Sort of reminded me of Sylvia Chibliti's "Didbit Awmos Hab It Aw." That pretty girl who made weird scrunching facial expressions from last season didn't make it (forgot her name), and she had a marginally better voice than Asiah. After watching Asiah sing, I rewound my TiVo and watched her backstory. Then, I understood why the judges let her through. You can't help but root for her. |
